Have loved Dirk Nannes over the past few summers, has that honesty that players outside of the golden group seem to have. Chris Rogers was great too when he was on Grandstand.
Yep, Grandstand seem to go for those types often.

Kim Hughes…was he a bit over the top in calling South Africa’s batting not even first class standard? He’s obviously never heard of or watched most of their players, forgets names etc…Like, I get it, they are shit but it was a very tough pitch, surely he should do some basic research before making special comments?

I think he's better off waiting till after the Sydney before making that sort of comment. Only two batsmen in this test got a 50 and neither side got remotely close to 300 in their first innings.

The pitches for the next two tests will have less grass on them, they'll be a bit flatter too. If South Africa still stink with the willow, Kim Hughes' comments will be fair and justified.

I agree, I don't know why it matters but I really like the better sound of FM for the Cricket.

If I am in the car I pretty much have to listen to Triple M, the AM radio very hard to hear. It's OK on my radio in the house by total crap on the car radio for some reason.

Their 2nd and 3rd best batsman average 32 and 34 (lower now) so he's got a point

He had clearly never seen Temba Bavuma (a bloke with 52 Tests) play. He couldn't even get his name right - he kept saying Bamuva - and it reads exactly how its written.

And having to throw to the other commentator to remember Marco Jansen’s name on several occasions…look he’s basically a Chapelli replacement but at least Chappell had watched the touring players. He was saying Maharaj wasn’t a first class quality bat when he has four test 50’s. A bit embarrassing tbh.

If Kim Hughes couldn't get 'Bavuma' right, he probably butchered the names of the other non Anglo-Saxon South African players too. According to Mark Waugh, Rassie van der Dussen's first name is ''Rudi''. Fair to say they both might find this video handy.

The reason why we heard the not so dulcet tones of Dwyane Russell today is because Adam Collins is in England at the moment as he's going to become a father for the 2nd time.

Just after Mark Waugh said he liked what he was seeing from Theunis De Bruyn, South Africa's number 3 top edged one from Green and was on his way back to the pavilion.

Was each wicket a firestarter?
