She’s on Triple M now, I never thought she was much chop but I actually had to change the station. This heightened loud mouth commentary not only her that does it, does my head in. Maybe she was decent on ABC, sorry but I don’t see or hear it.

Izzy westbury is the female on triple m not alison mitchell

Listened to the ABC. Thought it was OK. Infinitely better than C7!! I turned the latter on for about 5 minutes, and all I heard was Matthew Hayden (aka w***er) droning on about Warne and his pie, Coca Cola (not Coke for some reason) and cigarette diet. Don't remember hearing anything about the actual match.

Alison Mitchell will be on the ABC for some of the other tests apparently. For this test most of the commentary team was in Sydney and Mitchell was in Brissie as she has TV commitments as well. Presumably she will be doing ABC radio for the Sydney test at least.

I also like Steve Finn. Overall found the ABC team OK. Heard about 5 mins of Triple M in the car and all they did was try and outdo themselves with dumb stories. Brayshaw is just awful. Have not listened to channel 7 at all (just have the vision on and the sound down).

On the ABC, Ian Chappell enjoys telling the audience that he doesn't rate Root as a captain at least twice a stint. To be fair Root has given Chappelli ample ammunition.

Aggers, Alison Mitchell and Steve Finn are quality. Dirk Nannes doesn't add much for me. As Skull isn't on MMM this summer, surely the ABC should try and rekindle the Aggers and Skull partnership. Sure, Fox will probably say no but there's no harm in asking.

Ian Chappell is a ****ing moron who doesn't understand cricket of the past 30 years

Listening to Jim it seems most of the marbles have been found but there's still some that will likely be lost forever. Ian Chappell though, he sounds like he has one foot in the grave the other on a banana skin.

He's a moron

For those listening to ABC yesterday, how many times did Chappelli repeat his point about Renshaw being unfairly dropped while Harris is still in the team? Reckon I heard it 3 times and I only listened in bits and pieces when in the car

Renshaw was unlucky to be dropped in first instance but hasn’t done enough since then to get back in.

Listened to the first hour today on the ABC, and oh my goodness Ian Chappell is horrendous. To the point that I would immediately sack him.

Labuschagne gets his hundred, a real gritty knock, somewhat unique in test cricket these days. The play by play commentator throws to Chappell for comments. What does Chappell do? He literally spends the next five minutes complaining that Smith spent too long down the pitch congratulating Marnus. He never even mentioned Labuschagne's name or the fact he just scored a hundred. Even when they switched the play by play (Alison Mitchell came him), he just brought it up again. "Blah blah blah don't know administrator's know to get the game moving?"

Then a couple overs later when Marnus was out off the no ball, he never mentions the wicket, but launches into a rant about how long Marnus is taking to walk off the field. Then when it's overturned he essentially says that Labuschagne isn't actually very good, just very lucky.

Somewhere in there was a story about Syd Barnes.

He's the perfect example of an old man telling at clouds and it's awful.

Ian Chappell is getting a lot of praise from the English fans for his commentary on BBC. Maybe because they don't hear from him often so he's a new voice to them but I do think there is a factor that the English coverage is a lot better in general in terms of striking a balance between good ball by ball calls, insight and humour. The same way whenever I catch England home test matches Shane Warne is on the Sky Sports team and is a lot different and better to listen to than when he's doing Australia matches.

SEN clearly the best option for radio comm. Crappy ads & promos let it down slightly but they easily have the best lineup who take their job of describing the action, tactics and various on + off field machinations seriously
My wife asked me if the ad for Sexyland was real or not.

Steven Finn was a pleasure to listen to on the ABC. He and Andrew Moore developed a bit of an on air bromance. They were a great combination too. Aggers was pretty good too.

If Chappelli is on the ABC next summer, I hope he remembers to take his happy pills. I don't mind his forthright ways but he was a bit too grumpy for my liking this summer.

Steven Finn was fantastic all summer! Genuinely funny but also great analysis, him and Andrew Moore made for some great radio. Aggers is always good. Mitch Johnson I really enjoy too.

I usually don’t mind Chappelli, but he was woeful this summer, kept complaining about the same things, horribly biased towards Australia.

Ian Chappell is the worst commentator in the world. Has no clue about the modern game and should shut up.

I blame the fact his brother works at the ABC for him getting employed
