It would be greatly appreciated if people could respond with some Radio Station sites where we can listen to footy talk from anywhere in Australia.

I live in Adelaide and I would really like to be able to hear some of the footy talkback through the internet from a few stations that my radio cannot tune into.

you will find...as I do living O/S that during footy broadcasts the streaming from radio stations gets shut down by the AFL (facists).

You used to be able to go to 3AW, 5AA, 6PR even ABC and listen...now you have to go to the AFL site and pay to be a premiers club member so you can hear.

Fairly short sighted in my view.

If anyone knows a way around this then I am all ears.

The AFL banned other stations from broadcasting footy on the net unless they pay them a heap of money.MMM aren't allowed to broadcast the footy even though you can listen to the station 24hrs a day on the net.

I've got a mate in the USA whose pissed off with what the AFl have done to international listeners.

gotta agree Jubby

the AFL see that there are 10 people in the world who listen regularly.

They charge them $90 each thats $900 bucks

lets make it $9000 to be generous.

Now there are people who come along aftrwards and find they need to pay so don't bother meaning the thing will not grow.

The funny thing was last year none of the stations had the balls to say that the AFL had shut them down. They all put up notices syaing "we are re-inventing our site to give you a fantastic experience"...this lasted until the week after GF when the sites all came back atthe same time with no changes.

Alright it sounds like the games cannot be listened to but what about footy talk during the week.

I know there were some good programs on stations like 3UZ (don't know whether they still exist) and Sports 927. I don't want to listen to the games as such, my own radio can do all that for the games I want but I would love to listen to some of the talkback during the week.

I have noticed that the 3AW site is still being built but perhaps a couple of these other stations that I have mentioned have the facility to listen to their stations over the net.

Thanks for you help with that radio station, mine seems to work fine but I don't know how much of the racing stuff I can put up with, hopefully it might be a bit more football orientated come footy season.

You might want to see if there is an update of the Windows Media Player on the internet that you can download. I don't quite know which one I am using but it seems fine.

Once again thanks for your help.
