Raines

This sucks. Hurley was one of my smokies, now it seems a lot of people will be jumping on. Ah well, thems the breaks I guess.

Im still thinking of trading Raines for Cheney. Raines is pretty injury prone, and it was the same knee as last year so it could be a long term injury. If Cheney can keep his spot, he will be more profitable than Raines.

I also have hurley and i hope heaps of people trade him in. If people are burning a trade to get a player you already have it is a good thing remember.

Aslong as Heater comes back this week I will be happy.

Raines can stay on my bench this week and then I will decide next week whether I will trade him out.

My Backline and Rucks could be settled by round 4.

Im going to try and hold on and not use any trades this week. I believe Raines wil only miss 4 weeks and Anthony the same. Hurley and Cheney seem the options ATM but i may wait another week especially if Suban gets games and also Hill.

I caught the second half of the Doggies/Freo game, and think that Suban has a better chance to keep a spot over Hill. He looks more versatile - he was playing all over the ground - while I saw Hill do nothing out of the ordinary (he looks like he would only be able to play on the wing). Plus Suban's body should hold up much better than Hill's EXTREMELY light frame. This is just a personal, INITIAL opinion though, and I'm choosing to believe it seeing as I left Hill out of my team and only went with Suban out of the Freo youngsters :o:thumbsu:

In regards to Raines, I'll most likely hold onto him for another week and give Cheney a spot in the lineup (very pleased I held onto him before lockout). Hurley looks a good target to put some extra cash in the bank, but I've already got enough to go all the way up to a better <300k target (is Leigh Harding for real???) if I want to throw away Raines' "potential". I'd probably rather go with a guy that I know is going to get games considering I've got the likes of Drummond & Petrenko down there. Best probably to wait another week to decide I guess.

I saw someone mention Patfull, and I think he could be solid, but not great. He'll definitely stay in Brisbane's backline (I think he went forward every now and then last year?), and seemed to be taking a lot of those sideways marks that usually Drummond gets. This could be though that Drummond's work rate was absolutely shizenhouzen. Too many times Drummond was just walking around the defensive 50 arc while his teammates ran for space and gave support. Carrying injury already or just taking it easy to avoid injury? Either way, I wasn't impressed.

...RRRRAAAARRGH... THAT'S IT, I HAVE TO SURVIVE. Bye bye Raines, *shakes*, veeery likely to trade you in round 1 for Hurley. I don't have a choice... I-I just need to be sure that I'll have one boy playing in round 2... and I'm highly unsure about Hill, Suban and Rance. Along with that, I have the trouble of Hill's shit scores that need to be fixed.

Keeping Anthony (only started one mid rookie and have Otten + Rich)
Trading Raines to either Cheney or Hurley, Back bench is very shakey with Suban + Petrenko. Hill starting.

Anyone know Hills ToG...
Seems he was missing for alot of the game.

When he did get the ball he seemed to use it well even in traffic.
He was also a fast dedicated runner.. bolting after playings who arched there back and went for a run to keep the pressure on. I also liked his 2nd and 3rd efforts. However he just seemed to disappear for large chunk of 2nd and 3rd quarter and im just wondering if he was even on the ground.

78% for 9 touches and i no joke saw him on the tv screen about 12 times not including 2 goal celebrations.

thats not a good sign then, suban looked much better than him (not that he looked great - but then neither did half the team).
I remember seeing hill about a dozen times on tv either presenting or running with a player in possesion but he never seemed to recieve it

If Hill plays next week, expect him to score well.
I have Luke Hodge as well who could be suspended now.

If I have to use 2 trades I might just do it..

Hill -> Cheney
Raines -> Adcock/Macdonald

I need Hill, Suban and Patrenko to all be selected next week to gaurantee no 0's for me.

If I do the Raines trade, Adcock becomes a keeper for me. Is that to risky? I already have Houlihan in my backline and picked him as a keeper. Then Cheney will be the last player upgraded in my backline.

Decisions to be made... :o

I have Grimes, Raines and Rance but it is a bit early to trade, unless you plan to win the car you are only playing for percentage over the first 4 rounds.

There are a number of players i will be watching like Cheney, Petterd, Frawley Geary and Tiller as well as Suban, Patrenko and Hill. I would like to see them play 2 or 3 weeks to see if they are going to be of value as cash cows 4 or 5 weeks down the track.

Would hate to use up a trade at this stage and maybe pick the wrong one ... or pick someone else who might get injured. Raines is not going to get any more injured so I will carry him and wear a donut or two if I must.

JIMHOUSE:

Mate, dont trade hill just cos he misses one week. He will get 10-15 games this year, which is enough for him to be a cash cow without needing to burn a trade.

at his high price, if he continues to score this way and only plays in and out as a result of it and his tiny size, and you have him starting then he is hardly a cash cow
