Raines

I don't know what to do yet. Might just have to sit and see what happens. I'm spewing I couldn't log on to change Broughton. At least everyone is in the same situation.

50-50 on whether i'll be trading him now. All depends on how my rookie backs play this week.

My concern is that last year a similar injury ended his season.
3-4 weeks is obviously best case scenario I assume.

Either way I'll wait till after round 2. See if theres anything else worth jumping on and wait for any updated news from Richmond. Pretty livered to have an injury in my first 22 in the first game of round 1 though... I hope this doesnt continue through the rest of the season...

Hmm, 3-4 weeks doesn't sound good. I'll probably give Suban a run next week and then decide between Geary/Petterd/Spangher/Hurn/Collier/anyone else who comes up. Surprised nobody's mentioned Petterd yet.

I had Hurn last year and he was shite! I hope he improves. The club may say three to four, but in reality it may end up being six or more weeks.

Honestly...he had to wait until round one to get injured! Couldnt get injured in a pre-season match..had to wait until everyone had picked him up and secured him in their side..then...BAM!! What a dog.
Suban and Petrenko to cover for the time being...i think he will struggle to break back into that side after a lay off...i rekon thats him done for about 8-10

Back to the drawing board.

Thats DT though.I was angry last night, not so now, just adds to the game.

Wasted trade? only if you dont choose the right player.

The sad thing is all the twits that didnt pick Houlihan will scrape enough money to be able to afford him instead of raines, my research is for nothing

Raines was helped from the ground with a knee injury, which has been diagnosed as a lateral meniscus tear.
“At this stage he is expected to miss three or four weeks, but if the damage is worse than expected, he could be out for a longer period,” Monaghan said.

I have had the same injury before people can to a bit longer on occasion and I dont like the "IF the damage is worse then expected" if it's a nasty one it will be a 6 - 8 weeks at least which would make it pointless to have him esp if he takes a while to get back in the swing of things.

FAAAAAAAAARK!

nothing he has to play 3 games.

Im hoping Suban and Hill can put both strong performances and book themselves into the best 22 for at least the first 3-4 weeks. I think Suban is a definite to play this week.

a meniscus tear is a very good sign he may only miss 4 weeks which i think is worth keeping him if you are only going to have 1 zero through those 4 weeks.

That would entirely depend on his scores in the next 2 rounds he plays.
It will again be effected by the magic number which changes on a weekly basis.

However if you look at him averaging 70ppg is worth around $300k (e.g. Mundy) pre round 1 prices. Id expect with that average for him to reach $280-$290k which would be a tidy profit

that is the whole point of raines, and why everyone has him. he isn't there as a keeper, he might average 70, but he is starting cheap enough that 70 is a 100-120k profit, which is nothing to laugh at.

The problem now is, for those who have raines and hill starting, there isn't much on the bench to cover those 0's. Hill needs to play, and play well so he keeps his spot, so those with raines can just worry bout covering him from the bench.

This weeks freo game is going to be a ratings hit !!!

I currently have Hill and Raines starting. Hill will be fine. The rate him very highly and he was one of the best on ground in most of the nab games.

I luckily have Hurley on the bench. Also Petrenko who might be able to cement a spot.

whoever was picking based on durability was a very good strategy. Why didnt i do it when i talked about it for months, about an increase in injury and durable sides would be the way to go.
