Exactly right, might as well spill the extra $5 and get into a bunch more games.

Champions is the exact same but better seats (if you consider 2nd level better)
2nd Level is good but the member access area is good enough haha

Bit of a random question for everyone but here it is.

Creation of footy jumpers and graphic design in general is my hobby as I'm sure it's everyone else's hobby. With that said, how do you guys explain this hobby to others in the real world?

I always thought it was a bit awkward telling people what I spend a lot of my time on, just feel like they wont understand what I'm talking about. My friend (happens to be of the female kind) saw my designs for NAFL when I had Photoshop open and she was really intrigued and I just found it hard to explain it, let alone to a member of the opposite sex who isn't that into sports anyway.

I don't know, just thought of this question the other day. The kinds of things we talk about on here are pretty exclusive, I don't see the average Joe talking about the PB or the Swooping Magpie or all these other colloquial terms for footy jumpers.

Let me know what you think, because I'm bored.

Fashion design. Easy Gege, that should potentially even pique her interest. I find it awkward to explain too and usually I have to preface it with 3 minutes of explaining, but if you call it fashion design it will seem less weird (at least in my opinion)

She's into makeup artistry and all that stuff so I guess it's not too different from that just on opposite sides of the coin.

Graphic design would be another way of explaining it

I'd just say graphic design, and if the person on the other side of the conversation wants specifics I'd respond with 'specialising in sports uniforms, graphics, etc'.

A lot of people I've talked about it to are from a graphics background so the fact I can somewhat work AI/PS is amazing to them.

You should probably tell her about your activity on the internet forum BigFooty

My friends (and family) tend to think I'm crazy. They mostly don't understand my jumper collection, and why I like collecting them, but they don't mind my graphic designing (even if they do enjoy telling me it stinks). It's pretty easy to explain that I enjoy graphic design, what I can't explain is why I have a cupboard full of footy jumpers

Unlucky. My mum is coming around to the idea (although she wants me to pack them away as I’ve got no room left) and my dad has bought me two Essendon jumpers (he’s a Collingwood fan FWIW)

Yeah even my mum is a bit weird about my jumper collection and its still pretty small, only 4 or 5 jumpers. I'm not obsessive with it so I guess that is good, for now

Interesting responses, now I raise this question:

When was the first time you remember thinking about footy jumpers and other jumpers like clash, PB etc.

Personally, I remember hearing about how Port was wearing the PB in the elimination final against Richmond in 2014 and I just thought it was the ugliest jumper I had ever seen as I'd never known the history behind it, I just thought it was a new design.

Clash jumpers I never really thought about as much, but the first time I noticed them was when Collingwood wore them in 2013. I really liked it and tried to find one at the shops but couldn't. So I searched it up online and found out that every other team had clash jumpers and it was just fascinating at the time. Then I remember searching up to see what the new jumpers for 2017 would be and viola, I found BigFooty.

How to attract a female: "Hi! I'm an active member of the Footy Jumpers and Graphic Design board on BigFooty :)"

I first remember my interest coming in when the new franchises were announced as well as when the clash jumpers came in. I also had an interest in designing stadiums which I now still do.

I just tell people it’s sports-related graphic design which usually covers it for most people, but occasionally you get people who wanna know more.

Everyone thought I was nuts when I had five or six, wondering why I had so many. They're nearly going mental when I tell them I have 23. I'm pretty used to hearing "Another jumper... huhhhh" from everyone

Probably around the time I got my first one-off jumper and started caring about what we wore, which was about 2013. It was also when I had my first iteration on this board as "JStar589". I really got back into it though towards the end of last year when I bought our 2016 Country Jumper and earlier this year when I got my first PI. With my new found love interest, I whipped up .Psd and got back into designing, and I came back onto the board, username change and five extra years of life in hand

Of course, being 12 when I first joined meant I was probably not going to last and another interest was going to come along, and Paint on the families Window 7 made it hard to keep excited about designing. Having Photoshop on my school laptop (where the school component is just taking it everyday, the rest of the time it's just a personal laptop) meant I had the resources to get going

Surprisingly, around 2005 (i would have been 6 or 7) when brisbane released the lionside jumper. Still one of my whales along with the dogs red hoops

I can't think of a situation where it's actually come up, but I'm a bit of a sports design nerd so I group it in with that

Ive only really told a couple of people about my interest in graphic design and my activity on this board. I dont go into that much detail about it, if it happens to come up in conversation I'll mention it.

As for the first time I though about footy jumpers I wouldve been about 7 or 8 and I got given a Port Adelaide blockmount picture and it had photos of 5 or 6 players on it. Some were wearing the SBS home guernsey and others were wearing Ports first away guernsey (my favorite all time design). I cant remember when i first noticed clash guernseys specifically.

IIRC I stumbled across BF while I was looking for something footy related, couldve been info for a school project i was doing at the time. I was having a look through the boards and there was Footy Jumpers (and Graphic Design came later) down the bottom of the forum list where the Video Games board is I think. A little while later a few active board members, including Gibbsy, hastled the Chief for a name change and to be put up the top of the forum list to increase board activity!

Well there you go theres my history with footy jumpers and a short history of the board from 2009 onwards!!

Apart from my wife and kids I ain't out of the closet with this! That said, I won't really mind if other family/friends/acquaintances find out - it's a (mostly) harmless & somewhat therapeutic hobby after all. I always had a passing interest when new jumpers came up for SANFL & VFL/AFL teams, however with Port's increased involvement in the AFL during the mid 90's I really started getting into footy jumper designs. I often wondered if there were other people similarly intrigued, so discovering Mero's site and BigFooty was terrific - people as, or even more, fanatical about it than me!

Boo!:p Granted it's not pretty, but it's not meant to be. It tells a story and looks/is perfect for us. I gather you don't mind it now?
