You may know that I made a video on the Top 50 best goals of all time. It got pretty popular, 270k views and still rises about 500 or so each day.
Three years later and I've decided to do one on the Top 50 marks. Pretty much got it all sorted out but I wanted to garner a bit of public opinion on #1. My Malcolm Blight "it's a big kick, it's a mammoth kick" was an uncontroversial #1 for best goal and most people appreciated it (85m kick after the siren to win the game...), I only wish I had've included extended footage.
As for marks, everyone pretty much agrees that the best two are either Shaun Smith or Gary Moorcroft. Each day I lean towards one or the other for #1. Smith's has the sheer height, the fact that he took it on the goal line, and probably slightly more accolades. Moorcroft's is covered by 100 camera angles to make it look nicer but you also have to take into account that he took it with outstretched hands, above his head, falling backwards.
What's your #1? Smith or Moorcroft?

Are you basing this off of importance of the mark, or purely mark quality.
If it's the latter, I'd say Sampis grab was up there with the two of them.
Moorcrofts out of the two is probably the more iconic due to it being featured on the AFL Live game, but I prefer Smith's out of the two.

Smith's is a better grab IMO. Moorcrofts would be a pretty standard speccie if he wasn't the size of an ant.

Smith for me. If it had the camera coverage of today it would be undisputed number one. Moorcroft's looks so good because of the way he arched back and took it at full stretch, but he wasn't anywhere near as high as Smith.

There's a hell of a lot of better ones ahead of it.
This was the 1996 mark of the year and I couldn't find a spot for it in my 50.
On further watching, the Wingard mark will probably move up a touch as it's all jump, but his stepladder collapses and the marks generally always look better when there's some hang time.
FWIW I had Jay Schulz's rolling pack mark ahead of it but I might swap the two around.

The replay camera angles are superb. Schulz's mark was so great, #blessed to be there to see it.

Better quality broadcasts undoubtedly raise the quality of the more recent marks. I've tried to be unbiased; I'm gonna go with Smith as #1.
Btw, I bumped Wingard up to #29. One spot behind Jesaulenko You Beauty at #28 (the commentary is better than the mark – albeit great, in a grand final, over a ruckman, no hands). Full list will be posted when I upload the video, hopefully before the weekend.

Not sure where else to post this, but came across this article last night which led me to purchasing the 3600 page e-book. As a Baseball jersey fan, it's incredible! Anyone who is interested in MLB jerseys should give it a look, it's amazing the information Bill has collated, so much so that Cooperstown is using his guides.
I've got tickets for a corporate box tomorrow, do I look like a dickhead and wear a North scarf, or not wear anything North?

FWIW Nick Riewoldt should be number 1.
Speccy's are way over rated and super common now, nothing beats a courageous mark.

Riewoldts is as much a highlight reel mark as any. One of the greats for sure and up there with Moorcroft's as an iconic bit of footage for our game. Maybe the Moorcroft still image is better but the footage of Riewoldt might be the best demonstration of a mark we have.

Binghamton Rumble ponies have a really cool logo and colours
While Lehig Valley Iron Pigs have a pretty cool name, and, some absolutely ripping caps. Like, really cool caps
Syracuse Chiefs also have a ****ing fantastic kit going.
I guess my point here, is that MiLB is pretty ****ing sick.
Also that I'm looking for a 39thirty cap, and all these cool logos are making that difficult.
