By the end of the year I hope to be running an additional quick fire comp other than twenty20 Australia.

A few ideas
League World Cup (seeing that the rlwc is in 2017)
Pacific Netball League
South American Aussie Rules League
Return of Aussie Rules World Cup
AFL X League
Global Cricket League- quicker format than t20a but to include countries

Any other ideas?

- We already have the CCRC that focuses on Rugby League and Union
- netball, if done like the T20 could work, but it'd need the popularity backing
- That's a long league style comp
- ARWC? Why?
- I don't see how the AFL X jumpers will be different from normal
- Again, why? You've already got the T20. This doesn't seem necessary.

As fancyscum has said, many of these seem like comps for the sake of a comp. I like the sound of the Netball one, but as I said, it'll need the popularity vote

Netball would work if it had the backing

I actually don't mind the AFL X one if each designer could just 't20-fy' a jumper for their favourite club. Keep it really short, 1 day (2 max) polls with 2 pools to limit it to 5-10 rounds. That's what a quick fire comp would be imo.

As much as I like Lynton's ideas, I don't trust him at all in running these competitions. It sounds harsh but the only reason T20A worked was because I carried it behind the scenes.

AFLX would be an interesting one though, one that would peak my interest enough to enter.

For all it's worth, the ARWC was a cool competition and I'd like to see Spanna bring that back.

It can be hard running all these competitions when you have to get your homework done before 7pm

...let's not forget that you did have issues organising t20a last year, I'd probably focus on just one comp for now.

I have to agree as well. T20A was not proof enough that you can run a competition successfully at this stage. Grandsun, prove yourself with the one competition before branching into a second.

Fair enough.. also they were some ideas so If someone wanted to carry it on I don't mind

Yeah, I don't know how much interest there is at the moment in other leagues or even sports and I did post the IFL and have had zero response to it. Perhaps it was just the idea, but I think maybe leagues are at their limit at the moment.

I think that a really quick comp like the AFLX format I suggested could work given they are all already established identities and you are just putting together one guernsey, so I don't see it getting less interest due to other comps taking away attention. I might put together a proposal and assess interest later in the comps thread.

Would it be under NAFL clubs? that could work as a quick fire pre season comp

No, the NAFL preseason would be a NAFL preseason competition where you can design anything. The AFL X comp should (at least in my opinion) be a weekly comp with AFL identity.

No, it would be done using each poster's AFL side.

It drags out over 18 weeks though if you do it as a weekly, and with a league comp everyone has an entry that they are enthusiastic about doing. For example I couldn't give a toss about doing a Essendon jumper, but I have plenty of Ideas when it comes to the Crows.

Anyway, I'll explain it more in the comps thread when I get a chance.

Don't know where else to post this, but it makes me a bit sad:
https://www.theguardian.com/technol...l-off-after-32-years-graphics-editing-program
I remember first finding footy jumper templates from here (via google images) for paint back in maybe '07/08? which I spent time messing around with on the computer making loads of crows jumpers, and that's what really got me into design. While I haven't touched it since I discovered Photoshop, I'm sure that it would have been the gateway drug for most on here and others look back on it fairly nostalgically like me. RIP ms paint!

Yep, I used to design on this board via Paint when it was the program to use.
Didn't ride the Photoshop wave unfortunately.

Shame, I still muck around with Paint from time-to-time for various reasons.
Microsoft are trying to kill the 90's nostalgia and crush our innocent hopes and dreams.

MSN, MovieMaker, Paint ect.

I thought I would move this here to avoid going off topic, but:
so there is a going to be a Pride Round in 2018. the AFL would have that but no Heritage Round (not that i am against a Pride Round).
Does the sexual orientation of people really deserve its own round? Nothing against the LGBT community, but isn't this getting a bit ridiculous? And before people call me homophobic, I don't like the idea of Multicultural Round either. Stick with ANZAC Round, Heritage Round and Indigenous. Done. Finito. The more themed rounds we have, the less meaning they have.

Whilst it's a bit watered down, I actually think this sort of promotion is a solid idea. There's definitely still a level of homophobia/intolerance in the Australian sports scene, especially "blokey" sports like Australian Rules (probably more on a local level than an elite professional level), so I think the concept of promoting equality here is a positive one.

However, whether a round where everyone wears rainbows is the way to go, I don't know, and of course I'd rather see Heritage Round return. (#returntheochre)
