In sad news for jersey connoisseurs, Adidas, in cooperation with the NHL, are banning alternate jerseys next season. Edmonton are planning to ditch their blue home jersey in favour of their orange third jersey in response, while Minnesota are weighing up which of their red or green jerseys they will keep.

New Jersey are also rumoured to be rebranding.

Maybe it's just me, but does anyone else hate when the American sporting teams relocate? Of course, due to the Aussie sporting background we have, we see teams stay in the same location for more than a hundred years, but it frustrates me when teams just move and turn their back on the city.

Did San Diego have a big fanbase? Because no doubt they'll lose them with these kinds of decisions..

What shits me the most about US sports is owners holding cities to ransom, demanding flash new facilities be built for them, paid for by taxpayers or they'll pack up and leave for somewhere willing to play by their terms. Things are ridiculously biased in favour of owners, and cities are right for telling greedy franchises to bugger off.

I suppose for San Diego fans, this won't be as painful as it could be. LA is only 2 hours away up the highway and their broadcasting deals probably won't change too much, so they have the option of continuing to follow their team and attend matches.

Disappointing, because even though third jerseys have bought in many monstrosities from a design point of view, they were responsible for bringing back the traditional Penguins home jersey. Also, hope the Oilers go with the orange jersey - makes Connor McDavid that much more bearable as an opposition fan.

It's only to smooth the transition from Reebok apparently, so no it won't be long term.

Fan base was a little fickle, large numbers are not happy with this move, but many of them just didn't show up to games and are only now venting their anger.

For the team though, they have been asking for a new stadium for years (Qualcomm was built in 1967 and is showing its age) and the local government/citizens have denied them funding (though the amount the owners of the Chargers were asking for was pretty high in comparison to the norm), so the owners got a really good offer to share the new LA Rams stadium with I believe a fair amount of shared revenue from it so it made sense for them to go. SO it was really the cities fault for not providing the team with a reason to stay.

It must have been a great offer from the Rams (were they previously St. Louis?) and as you said Bacon, it's only 2 hours away so not as much damage done.

I dont know much about soccer, but theyve been a part of hockey for quite some time now. Green card= warning or 2 mins off on the bench, 2 Greens= 1 Yellow= 15 mins, 2 yellows= 1 red= off for the rest of the game (depending on where you play, also up to a tribunal)

Yeah the same thing happened when Reebok took over. It is also a good way to make extra money as people will be more likely to go out and buy the new jerseys, then in a year or so they will then be tempted to go and buy a new third design when they are released.

Last time I travelled on PT over wastes one QLD where I have a prepaid card. If a sydneysider could shed some clarity that'd be great.

You will need to purchase an Opal Card, travel from the Domestic Airport to Central is expensive ($16.16 due to the station being privately owned), but is only a 10 minute trip. The card can then be used for all public transport (bus, train, light rail and ferry).

You can use the website www.transportnsw.info for more information about times and fares as well as information on the Opal Card (which can also be found on www.opal.com.au).

Basically what craegus said. Travel isnt too bad but may experience some delays in the city due to ongoing roadworks for the Light Rail system
