Put the pipe down mate, that's a crazy idea.Drunk Idea right now but I dont think anyone has thought about this before. Hear me out.... I think they should bring back heritage round. [emoji16][emoji16][emoji16]
Fuuuuuuuuuuck I knew it was a crazy idea. Stupid me! Should never have posted itPut the pipe down mate, that's a crazy idea.
So the bulldogs indigenous PI Asics guernseys were actually printed by a local company in Adelaide
Would be Awesome to see Brisbane enter as Fitzroy and Sydney to enter as South Melbourne, but would not make sense logistically at all. Using their jumpers could be an option though. Some huge news here. Could be interesting to see what the AFL reserves teams in the NEAFL do. Perhaps we could see them take on affiliations with the standalone clubs in the NEAFL. Sydney Uni Swans, Canberra Giants, Aspley/Redland Lions and Gold Coast Sharks. Those are just a few ideas anyway and the clubs might just enter the VFL with the same identity.

OMG. I was coming here to post that exact same thing. It can easily be done like we see with Western Bulldogs team being called Footscray in the VFL.Would be Awesome to see Brisbane enter as Fitzroy and Sydney to enter as South Melbourne, but would not make sense logistically at all. yeah, if you were to do that, you'd have to actually base the teams there. which is why I said it didn't make logistical sense, flying half your squad to Melbourne every week.It would be strange for South Melbourne and Fitzroy to play their home matches in Sydney and Brisbane respectively,
Yeah definitely feel like the standalone clubs are done for. Specifically Coburg and Frankston, but I’m sure Port, Willy and Werribee will struggle with the travel costs too. Same deal with the QLD and NSW clubs, I don’t think many will join given how many teams dropped out of the NEAFL for travel reasons. It’s basically a death sentence for anyone who isn’t an AFL affiliate.Kind of feel for the stand-alone VFL clubs, tbh. With the merger sort of being move towards a national reserves comp, I'm not sure how much longer they'll be competing.
I have a few fond memories of watching the VFL as a kid back in the early 00's and seeing all these teams I'd never seen before, and it'd be sad to see them go.

I think the northern clubs will try to have their own standalone teams like they did in the NEAFL.It would be good if Sydney, GWS, Brisbane and Gold Coast pick up the other standalone NEAFL clubs and form affiliations, would hate to see one of those clubs just go down the drain because of this. I imagine that would be of benefit because they already have the facilities in place.
Just came across this on twitter somehow...
Some random choices here... I don't think any of them are particularly impressive. In fact one of the guernseys in the bracket (Moddewarre) was featured on the 'worst local jumpers' thread we have going around at the moment.
