I was pretty disappointed that they aren't performing tbh. As i'm in Brissie and this may be the only opportunity i have for the Lions to play at home and maybe in a grand final, it would be pretty nifty to see PF performing. Odyssey No5 was one of my first albums as an angsty teen.

A fun thing I like to do is imagine my favourite Australian artists performing as the Grand Final pre-game entertainment and creating a quick 3 song setlist for them to smash out.

For DMA's I've got;
Play It Out

Break Me

Lay Down

Got me thinking before about a Violent Soho GF setlist (assuming they'd want to promote their new stuff more):

Canada

Covered in Chrome

Vacation Forever

I feel like they couldn’t do a grand final set without playing Like Soda tbh
In a standard grand final eight-minute set they probably won't have time to squeeze it, you'd think they'd probably rather promote songs off their most recent record too. It is a banger but tbh I'd rather see them play Viceroy just because of how good the bassline in it is.

Could definitely see them playing Vacation Forever, Canada or Lying on the floor and obviously Covered in Chrome.

I just can't see it happening. The AFL would be too nervous to book them. Their band logo is a skull smoking a joint lol. And their biggest song has a refrain of "Hell **** yeah!"

I don't wanna come off like an old boomer, because I like VS – they're a great live act – but I'm just trying to put myself inside the head of an AFL suit.

You just know they will roll out some version of INXS or Chisel

They should get this guy called Tame Impala to do the GF gig. Not sure if any of you guys have heard of him before, he is really underground so wouldn't be surprised.

If Grinspoon were to perform 'Lost Control' live at a capacity Gabba, every single memory of AFL Live 2004, not just for me but for everyone else, would come rushing back. The memories would come back in such a way where people would rush to find their old PS2's at half time complete an amazing comeback in 'Mission Mode'.

Fingers crossed for a repeat of 2004 as well

Over the past few weeks, I've sort of hit a metaphorical 'roadblock' when it comes to music. After listening to pretty much the same bands, I recently started to try and change that. I listened to Foals, 'Exits' quickly becoming a favourite of mine and I also listened to a lot more Grinspoon as of yesterday, Black Tattoo is banger. So anyhow, I'm in need of something else to listen to tomorrow, please, if you don't mind suggest an album for me to listen to over the next few days, it would certainly go a long way.

Old school, but Queen II is their greatest album and severely underrated

The Living End self titled, Roll On
Guns n Roses Appetite for Destruction
Limp Bizkit-Choc Starfish and Hot Dog Flavoured Water (haters gonna hate :p)
Any Sum 41

Grinspoon is always a winner.

Try Nothing But Thieves' self-titled album.

I probably won't listen to the Limp Bizkit album, mainly because I'ma do things my way, It's my way, my way or the highway.
