I have to put up with jokes revolving around The Simpsons and other shows I don't watch, and be welcoming towards them. But as soon as I bring up a joke about TBBT, I get told to **** off. I sorta don't see a fair balance in this.

For one of my subjects this semester, all we do is basically watch movies and tv. So in the first tute, we had to go around the class and say our favourite tv shows and movies. As soon as I said the I could recite full scenes from The Big Bang Theory, there was a large groan from everyone in the class.

It still seems as though it's not okay to enjoy the show.
I think personally the show has gotten to the point where it's humour is stale. CH9 are overpromoting it like its something it actually isn't, and for me personally, my humour has changed. I like things that are funny, but also clever or hidden, so you're looking for the joke and can properly appreciate it, rather then TBBT's approach of "Hey look, we made a joke here! Laugh!" then follows it up with a laugh track like people that are watching are going to miss the "joke".

There is nothing wrong with liking TBBT akkaps. In reality a lot of people on this board are just comedy snobs, and you my friend like a simpler form of comedy. It's no different to me having a "simple" taste in music which I'm sure is derided. Nothing wrong with being different m80.

I do agree that Ch9 over advertise the show, also they spoilt the ending of tonights episode with their ads. Some of the jokes aren't funny, I do agree, but you cannot half 20mins of non stop laughter in one episode. And yes, laugh tracks aren't good for tv, but it's been used in many other tv shows.

You brought up the topic of music; and I do listen to different music to most people. I grew up listen to Hindi music, and have stuck to this ever since. The downside to this is that I have been picked on during high school for liking different music. And TBBT feels like that all over again.

I find it annoying that we are being forced to conform to social pressures in the current age, and where individualism isn't celebrated.
