Question for people that have bought clothes from America, how different is their sizing to ours, like what is an Australian large to an American large or are they the same?

Thinking of getting some Miami Heat clothes and I don't know what size to get, if it helps I usually wear a L or an XL for footy jumpers.

adidas® Men's Sizing
Small Medium Large X-Large XX-Large XXX-Large
Chest 35-37 in 38-40 in 41-43 in 44-46 in 47-49 in 50-53 in
Waist 29-31 in 32-34 in 34-36 in 36-38 in 38-40 in 40-43 in
Inseam 30.75 in 31 in 32 in 34 in 34 in 34.75 in

When I went there earlier this year and I'm usually a small men's size shirt but there I was buying either XS or XXS, so for you I'd suggest medium or maybe a large.

I buy a lot of clothing from a lot of retailers. I'm almost always a small. Although exact measurements vary, it's usually right on the money.

I find Adidas S to be smaller than a Nike S, or a 'regular' S.

Is there a size chart?

Get someone to measure you up. Failing that, use the approximate centimeter measurements, then convert them to inches.

Went to the T20 Big Bash last night. Such a good game, the Heat were unlucky not to get over the line. Haydos was brilliant with the bat as well as Hauritz with the ball. Got Nathan Hauritz and Dan Christian's autograph at the end of the game so I was pretty happy.

BTW love the Brisbane Heat kit. Look great!!!

Yeh looked like a good crowd on TV. Typical McCullum dismissal though. You like their kit? I personally think all the Big Bash kits look bloody amateur. Whats with the trucker hats :p?

Got my Year 12 results today. Ended up with an ATAR of 83.20. My first preference has needs a score of 85. I blame biology; I hated that subject.

Anyone care to explain to me how the marking system in the different states is derived? For example, what is an ATAR?
In New Zealand you either get a certain amount of Achieved, Merit or Excellence credits (like points) in every paper you do (kind of like the UNSW tests giving you participation, credit, distinction and so on), and your performance at NCEA Level 1 (Year 11) is determined by how many of these credits you achieve at a certain level. For example, you need 80 achieved credits to pass at the ACHIEVED level, and when you get 50 at merit or excellence collectively, you pass at the MERIT level, and when you get 50 solely at excellence, you pass at EXCELLENCE. For example, prior to my exams (exams are known as External Assessments (as in written externally or outside the school), while we have the opportunity to earn about 100 points through Internal Assessments (written by the school), I had 20 Not Achieved points, 40 achieved, 20 merit and 50 excellence roughly, so I was guaranteed to pass NCEA Level 1 (again, Year 11) at Excellence.

Sorry if thats bloody hard to understand, but that's our schooling system :D.......

An ATAR is your final score. It's for year 12 students. Your ATAR is the original dictator of what uni you go to, and what course you can study.

You do four to six subjects in year 12. Your best four subjects are counted on a scale from 0-100. So it's a basic percentage thing. So if you get 50 in every subject, you'll get 200/400.

That number is then compared to those in your cohort. Depending on how well other people went, that is how you get your ATAR.

There are some semantics but that's basically it. Each state has a separate way of doing things, but the ATAR is for everyone (bar QLD).

So anyone who has a PS3 and plays MW3

Gamertags people ............................

There was 28 000 people at the game. They had a whole section of the ground closed but because there were so many people they openned it up.

Thats actually bloody simple. In fact, its how it used to be done here pre-2004....Other schools offer the IGCSE here too but not mine....So you choose your best 4 subjects and its marked from there?

Funnily enough, being an NZer I count as a local student in Australia, but I haven't seen the specific marks that I'll require through NCEA for university entrance there. Something I must look into....

Went to the Hurricanes match last night, was great to see them win so comfortably. We're actually looking a threat in this comp. And the city of hobart has adapted very well to the new format, everyone loves the Hurricanes.

Also was fantastuc news to see Cowan and Hilfy named in the test squad yesterday :thumbsu:

Does the elastoplast logo that is advertised on the boundary line remind anyone else of the old Brisbane Bears guernsey/logo? It was seriously one of those things I couldn't stop noticing during the season...

Going to the Renegades tonight. Not sure what to expect because we looked terrible against the strikers, but the scorchers batting wasn't great either.

We really need Hodge back.
