If an AFL team wore a design with faux-paint splotches, it'd be hands down the worst jumper ever.

Not sure... but if you're worried about it looking out of place on a Basketball jersey, don't at all. Basketball jerseys used to be as varied and identifiable as AFL guernseys are, they're just totally generic nowadays.
Take a look at the now defunct American Basketball Association... the jerseys they wore in that were amazing.
