Also, I'll post a guidelines thread about the use of the tags, what kind of threads should be used for different types of things.

I'm not gonna rule out anyone +18. In time this will happen anyway. Gotta increase the board traffic more. Increase people's skills with mash-ups, animated gifs, movies, etc. Make it like a graphic design haven related to football.

Also, Im not gonna be mod forever, eventually all these 15-18 yos are gonna be the mods and carry the torch.

Footy Graphic Design - to encapsulate the broader essence of the board.

Where the board description then includes "guernseys, logos, comps, and more".

Btw, I'll go thru the 15 pages and re-edit the thread tags another night. It can take hours and hours to do it. But I will do a few now to illustrate what the guidelines are requesting.

I'd go one further, "Footy Design".

After all, our most active thread, New Jumpers for 2010, is more about the physical aesthetics of the footy jumper rather than computer graphics.

Well, it's 'Footy Graphic Design', not 'Graphic Design', so that's clear and understood.

I think 'Footy Design' isn't as clear.

Btw, all this came about because I read a very old post by you Smeagle, where you requested a new board name and description to better portray the board. Dropping the Fotoshop cos it was tacky and not entirely appropriate as people use other programs, etc.

I agree with Smeagle that Footy Graphic Design doesnt really fit in with threads about New Jumpers, Essendons Clash, etc, although I dont like the Footy Design idea earlier.

If I get these things, and even if I don't, I would be interested in getting a co-mod to help mod this board. They'll have to be 18+ and be fairly regular here. I'd also want someone who is objective, down-to-earth, easy-going, so we work well together and the posters don't have differences between one mod and another. That's if admin even thinks a second mod here is justifiable.

I wouldn't tread on their toes, but it's always good to have some help, real life busier, modding multiple boards, etc.

Like the changes you made, would've prefered if you changed the name to Footy Jumper Design but anyway.

Spent five minutes trying to find our thread until I remembered you said you were gonna change it.

I recommended you Gibbyspin initially and didnt realize you were <18 until I was told. Yeah, if certain people are more mature than their age, I don't see a problem, but it's an admin thing.

Thanks for that GG, definitely gives me a sense of pride in being a sort of leader around the board for the past 12 months or so. It just points out that it's an unusual prerequisite to have (being 18) when the majority of people's ages are private and everyone posts as per se. As Smeags mentioned a while back, BF is "ageless" compared to something like Facebook.

Anyway, I have no problems with how admin run the place, I love BF, I was just a bit perplexed. I won't stop being keen though as I feel I have the ability to do a good job.

I would have had no idea you were under 18, you're definitely one of the wiser heads around here.

I agree with you there GG. We've been pushing for increased board traffic for years and I've loved my time over here watching the board grow. A few more tutorials wouldn't go astray, as we expand on just guernseys and logos.

I remember Lee saying a while back that the Footy Videos and Pics board could be really valuable and interesting if it was managed correctly and continued to gain traffic. Threads like best marks, goals, bumps, comebacks, GF's etc. and then encouraging people to create their own highlights videos would be really quite clever. And then, of course, tutorials stem from there. It's a sharing sort of board

There are plenty of great candidates for a mod position among the regulars on this board, including those mentioned. It's probably the board with the most mutual respect going around out of any on bigfooty. Although all this talk is making me feel pretty old at 24.

Age should never be a factor, i've moderated a few forums in my time and age has nothing to do with common sense or the likelihood of someone being a ********. It's a shame a blanket rule is in place.

If it must be known then I've just recently turned 16.
Did my learners test today, got 91%, went out onto a road and when I turned I oversteered and pushed a touch too hard on the accelerator. Mum freaked Luckily the brake saved us both.

I came on here the other day after about a week because Id been too busy. First reaction was JEEZ I was only on here a week ago and there was no serious talk about changes across the board.
