Michael Pope eh... he does the crowd warming on Millionaire too.

We went a couple of times to Millionaire years ago and my brother each time reminded him of his days hosting Blockbusters.

Was going to post this in here but forgot - went to the Footy Show filming on Thursday night, great stuff, very funny and there are a lot of things happening that you don't see on TV :thumbsu:

Yeah it's awesome.

I went in 2007 and loved how they gave out free drinks and free mini pies/sausage rolls :)

Lucky a family friend used to be involed in producing the show, we didn't even need to go on a waiting list and we got front row seats :thumbsu:

Which shorts does everyone think Geelong will wear this Friday? It is technically a home game so they should wear navy shorts, but it is finals and last year in this same situation they wore white shorts, and also in the 2008 grand final they wore white shorts too. I myself think they should always wear white shorts for home and away games, and that since a 'clash' can be avoided this way, Geelong should wear their white shorts and Hawthorn wear brown.

Nice :thumbsu:

Yet there were no free drinks for us unless you were sitting at one of the tables.

Must of changed since, when we walked onto the set, they gave out drinks for people sitting in the "stands".

Still a great night no doubt

It's hard to believe it's been 10 years since 9/11. To this day it's still hard to comprehend the attacks. I remember being 8 on the day it happened, waking up to see Mum and Dad staring in horror at the tv, and not having a clue what was going. Dad tried to explain it to me but he just couldn't. Reading the reactions in the GD thread is the most eerie thread I've read on BF and probably ever will.

The worst part is the wiseguys who were cracking jokes at the beginning of the thread. I wonder how they feel now.

you can read my thoughts near the end of that thread, went to USA last year and the tribute centre, most moving thing I've ever seen/done.

AND Sandra Sully, who said: "This is not a usual destination."

NO SHHIT SANDRA YOU STUTTERING IDIOT.

I couldn't help but LOL.

I do remember watching the footage live on that Tuesday night, it was pretty horriffic. I remember waking up the next morning wondering "what else happened that I missed out on?", I didn't know if someone was going to immediately declare war or what.

I've put a heap of 9/11 docos for scheduled record on Foxtel iQ - I know how sad I'll probably be when I watch them, but it's still very interesting and some of the stories are very inspiring. If you can muster up the courage, check out some of the phone calls from inside the WTC on Youtube - I listened to one made by a guy the name of Cosgrove... it was possibly the most chilling thing I've ever heard. He was, understandably, getting impatient as the smoke was filling the air, and then - "Oh God!" - the South Tower collapses. Amazingly frightening to listen to.

^^ yep I watched that about 2-3 years ago at least and its so sad. Watched it again this morning (just happened to come across it) and still get chills. Just shocking stuff

I recall the morning here. It all seemed odd at first, wtf, is this? I happened to turn on the telly seconds after the first hit. When the second plane struck I was stunned. I had lived in that country the previous year.

I remember a strangely numb feeling as I drove to uni for my 8:00 class that Wednesday the 12th. I'd vaguely heard the radio as I woke up earlier saying something about the World Trade Centre, then I saw reports on the TV in the morning. It seemed totally surreal.

We had our tutorial at uni and went through the stuff but I sensed there was something on everyone's minds, and we all discussed it briefly at the end.

As I had an early finish, I had planned to visit the primary school class I'd had for a teaching round earlier in the year, and to discuss with the staff some arrangements for the school camp I was joining them on the following week. I thought about whether to go visit or not... I decided on going, because if anything, the youngsters might appreciate a distraction from the news, at least for a couple of hours.

That's all I can really say about it though. I don't feel a particular connection to what happened, or to the victims, or to the buildings themselves (which I do miss as they weren't pretty but they were iconic). I don't devalue the suffering endured by anyone as a result of that day either. It still feels surreal.
