The NAFL, USAFL, AGOTW, KOTW and USFL have all gone very quiet in the past couple of months. :(

I'm contemplating running a new comp, but am not sure if there will be interest or it will battle to start like the ARICL or the other comps will make a glorious return.

We seem to go round in a cycle; lack of comps -> we want more comps -> people make more comps -> too many comps, people don't enter -> interest dies out -> lack of comps and so on.

What do we do to get rid of this cycle?

Make it that if anyone starts a comp and it doesn't last more than two weeks, they get red carded...

Why do the competitions that get started not get taken through to the end?

Lion Cub 16 and Cory seem to have disappeared, TP got married and so has other things on his plate, KOTW suffered from an incredible lack of interest, and the USFL was on the tailend of it's run anyway. Other competition's that have sprung up haven't been well supported because they have just been created, they weren't put to the board beforehand.

By the sounds of this, I take it that any competition needs to have some support from others on the board.

Sounds like the other competitions coming to an end at the same time was just a bizaar coincidence.

KOTW was OK but suffered from lack of timely polling, and coordinators saying "I'm bored of this cos I have no ideas".

And my earlier suggestion was related to what Aenimence said.

What is the stuff that a few AFL players put on their guernseys before each match? Paw Paw cream? I've always wondered. Notice the stain next to the Collingwood logo on Nick Maxwells picture. Can anyone tell me what it is?

It might be that wax you put on your hands that makes you grip the ball better. We used to use it when I played women's footy and it would leave stains like that.
