Can't say I give a flying fuark about Boxing.

But I don't think it's right at all for someone to question someone's heritage. He (Geale) is white, his wife is and his kids are. Doesn't change the fact that he comes from an Indigenous background. Mundine should keep his opinion to himself. Find a more ethical way to spice the fight up.

In comments about Geale who happens to be of Indigenous heritage and from Tasmania (though not Tasmanian Aboriginal

"I thought they wiped all Aborigines from Tasmania out, that's all I know." and "he's got a white woman, white kids" (basically saying because of that he isn't Indigenous)

I'm not Indigenous, but as soon as I heard that I felt that anyone of that heritage should be offended with what was simply a racist remark.

Mundine then without apologising to Geale came out with this the next day:

"Australia is a very racist country,". "I live here and I know it.


"I've had friends come here and they feel it. We can't turn a blind eye anymore. You've got to say what you've got to say to make a change for the better. That's all I'm trying to do.

"That's why I want to change the flag. I want to change the anthem."

He did somewhat apologise to the Aboroginal community however

"I know there are a lot of Aboriginals in Tasmania that are proud of their heritage, just like me," he said.

"My comments weren't directed at anybody but the system that, in my opinion, do not reflect the sentiment of the first, second or third generation Aboriginals.

"There are people who get jobs and are claiming benefits who claim to be Aboriginal because they have a great, great, great, great-grandmother or grandfather and that's it.

"The system needs to accommodate those Aboriginals that need it most instead of trying to cater for everyone."

Mundine added that Australia's national anthem was the theme song for a regime that wanted to wipe out Aborigines and that the flag did not represent the first inhabitants of the land.

I have now and for a long time had no respect for the man and this just proves what a *expletive deleted* he is and the lack of knowledge of the truths about the early days of the colony/nation.
