Euthanasia would be nice. In theory, it stops suffering. But realistically, the loopholes and guidelines are far too hard to restrict and it's impossible to govern. For all the genuine cases that should be accepted, there's a murder.

Abortion is a sad thing. It's a human life. But there are states in which something is more human than it is a sperm, and the earlier it is to conception, the less sad it is. However, abortion is a positive thing for society. If someone feels as though a kid isn't the right thing, why should they have a kid? Why have a kid in an environment that isn't deemed decent enough? Women deserve the right to terminate and control what happens with their bodies. I'm pro-choice.

China's one child policy only applies to married peoples in urban areas. It's hyperbolised.

Western Australia is a nice place. The beaches here are grouse and we have an endearing culture as well as some pretty awe-inspiring natural environments. We are basically a massive bunch of hicks, though, and that's kind of sad. A state full of perennial whinges and conservative arseholes. Perth will stagnate unless the governments mans up and realises that to progress, it might have to upset some people (Sunday trading is a good example, which they've successfully implemented). We should have daylight savings.

McDonald's is a cancer to Australian society. It adds to a massive epidemic in our society: Obesity. People who decry smoking but scoff down that shit are massive hypocrites. They both add to our countries hospital bill. The corporation is unethical and is responsible for the degradation of massive amounts of land. They are evil. And it tastes like... nothing. They then attach themselves the most heart-wrenching charity possible (kids) and use that as a facade to defend themselves. They do way more harm than good.

Hope that answers it!

It depends on the severity of the word.

I'm thinking of a word relating to people considered black. It starts with the letter 'n.' Now, I don't really think that's acceptable either way. A white kid saying "we should lynch some -------" is awful. "my best mate is a great ------" is supposed to be endearing, but it's still awful and socially unacceptable.

This might be the internet, but it's a reasonably intelligent discourse. This isn't shooting the shit with your mates. If you wouldn't say a word to a stranger, it's probably best to not say it on here.

And if you are going to use that slur against gays with strangers, well, you have the social etiquette of a rat.
I completely agree with you, but that's not what I'm saying.

What he did was recognise himself as the slur, in the same way African Americans call themselves the N word you refer to.
If a black guy says "I'm one crazy N-word", who are we to condemn him and tell him "hey buddy, we don't use that word around here".
If a gay guy says "I'm such a raving queer", what do we say to him?
I grew up in an era where calling someone a wog was offensive, yet my Greek and Italian mates called themselves wog boys.
I agree there are some words that in their very nature are offensive. That's because there's no way of cleaning them up. F-word and C-word are probably it though these days.
I only consider racial or sexual orientation epithets offensive if used to attribute a weakness or difference. If a person identifies himself with that group he is hardly meeting this criteria.

In the original context, I still think that West_Coast_Eagles was saying that wearing white boots makes him a ****** and that it was a bad thing, because being a ****** is something disgusting. If the swear filter wasn't active, I wonder if he would've chosen a less offensive word.

Wow. This is more offensive than anything. A f----- refers to a gay male, and this is "something disgusting?" Seriously, man. I'm not that sensitive or anything, but this is a bit OTT and extremely offensive. There is nothing fundamentally flawed about liking blokes instead of girls, or girls instead of blokes. Homosexuality isn't disgusting. If you think their sex is disgusting, well, plenty of straight people do the same acts.

And Mero, yeah, I see what you mean. If WCE was gay, it'd be cool. But I don't think he is.

How could someone 'seem like the type' to wear a certain colour of boots?

Especially when you don't even know the guy's real-life personality.

Oh sorry man.

You seem to care a lot about boots. I bet you're gay.
Right, I think design is just as stigmatised, regardless of the medium (sporting or not). But I'm comfortable with my sexuality/don't care what anyone thinks because it's something I like.

And so what if I was gay? Like, it's irrelevant.

And, frankly, shows your immaturity.

I'm surprised someone doesn't give you shit at training for having purple boots, to be honest. Maybe that's the country boy in me, but even in Perth, the blokes in yellow and coloured boots got the piss taken out of them. It's not cool.
