Fitzroy stars? Im guessing your aboriginal? Only aboriginals can play or on better terms its a aboriginal club.

Some would say many uni students are all sheep. Jumping uni skipping class defering. Im sorry but just because you go to uni does not make you smart or better than a bloke who leaves school in year 10 & gets a apprentance.

Hard work gets the rewards & at the end of the day ppl want to be doing somthing they love.
But some settle with a job that pays the bills & gets them a house


Quick question.

A kid leaves school in yr 10 gets into a electrical apprentanceship.
By the time he has finshed his apprentanceship a uni student you went to high school with is in his first year at uni.


3-4 years @75,000+ a year fully qualified
Compared to 3-4 years working at coles + doing uni earning mabye 15,000

Then when that 23 y.o has finshed uni he gets a first year job paying 50,000.

Does educated mean owning your house 1st or getting a piece of paper to say "bachelor" of ...

And man, hard work doesn't actually equal reward. The world doesn't work in such a fairy tale world. Everything is basically political and myth and bullshit. An example being the university system, which is essentially all about money.

And you're confusing economic prosperity as being the sole signifier of success. And even if it were, I'm pretty sure you're forgetting one huge element: That uni can lead to better paying jobs! Things like dentistry, law, medicine... things are high profile, high-income positions. A doctor will, and rightfully, earn more than a gyprocker.

I don't do a huge amount of study, I go out, I enjoy life, and I live an easy as **** one. I don't even have or need a job. I'd rather this than some hard labour. Plus, I don't really aspire to be "rich." Money is only for buying things, it's not for collecting. But I have a feeling most people on this page will completely disagree with such a statement...

I don't think I'm better than anyone, let alone an apprentice. I have mates who just don't like studying that much. Whatever. That wasn't my point.

Are you kidding me? Whenever people give you a hard time about incorrect spelling, you quickly defend yourself by saying that you go to uni.

I just graduated last week and I am hoping to study computer based design at Sunny Coast Uni next year.

Don't see the need for people to get distressed over a conflict between two people. I mean seriously, what are you guys all 14 or something and never seen two people have an argument? Silent Alarm and lmach have a differing opinion, if I so dare state the bleeding obvious, but it shouldn't matter, as long as certain lines aren't crossed. Even though those lines are being fraught with in this instance.

And in my humble opinion, Silent Alarm can come across as a bit condescending in his use of vocabulary, but that's just how he is. This is the internet and people are free to speak(type) in any manner in which they choose. SA is a long time member of the board and regularly contributes his opinion and adds to discussions, without adding meaningless info and following what everyone else's 'opinion' seems to be. lmach is not to dissimilar in the fact that he isn't afraid to let his opinion be heard. He's a great designer and has been a huge contributer to the board, design wise.

It's guys like this we want around the board that actually add to conversations, regardless of whether it's an argument or not. Surely you'd all understand that when you have a conflict in opinion between two people who are very opinionated there will be some form of argument. It's a shame guys like Cory, Smeagle, Sepul, PAFC and even EFH (;)) are gone/barely seen around here.

C'mon mate, don't bag yourself. It practically defeats the purpose of all of the other posts you've made. People will think "Oh well WCE is an idiot, everything he says is invalid."

Fair call. Cory was definitely more in the "designer" category than the "poster" category though.
