IIRC somewhere between 50 and 50.5 seconds. This was waaay in the early days before all those Asians got to 49 seconds and below.

Ironically falling off the track is how you get a world record on Rainbow Road

Assuming we're playing the greatest Mariokart, Mariokart 64.

Although I think Rainbow Road is the same on the Wii version.
