Mark Howard is way better than Maher. Luckily Sir Viv still commentates.
Yes, I have to agree. Don't we all love Viv and his anecdotes? Quite a funny guy if you can understand what he's saying!!
Nah, you can't knock the great Sir Viv.

All the commentators annoy me.

They're not intelligent callers, they're just obnoxious entertainers (and I use that term loosely) that detract from the spectacle.

I wish they would invent a button on the foxtel remote that blurs out the commentators so you can only hear the crowd. Especially for when BT's crew of misfit has-been footballers are commentating. Surely though on the Big Bash coverage you enjoy the company of Mel McLaughlin?

Really? Personally I think he's quite good and adds relevant and interesting comments. Who does annoy me is bloody Andy Maher. He get's waaay too excited to be taken seriously.
You've never watched Ned Zelic commentating the soccer, have you?

I am all for this, have some background music or something as well!!

Yes I have actually. The thing I hate about Maher is he gets more excited about the technology than the game and is always talking about one of 10's shit new shows.

Benaud, Chappell, Greig and Lawry were definitely fantastic commentators - this generation's commentators are as S2A describes them
That commentary team is easily the GOAT. It's really sad that we can't listen to there brilliant comments and expertise any more. I suppose there is replays and the 12th man but it's not the same really. It will be a sad, sad day when these voices of cricket pass on.

I've taken this to the RCT Andonis1997 but I know a number of Sturt/Port supporters.

If you're getting a membership purely to enjoy AO and the AFL experience, then you'd be far better off going with Port. We play exciting football, we have brilliant pre- and post-game functions, our match day atmosphere is second to none, and, of course, the supporters are infinitely sexier.

Like I said, if you're getting a membership purely for the football aspect and not the supporter aspect, then Port is the go. While Power/Magpies are one club, watching the Power doesn't make you any less of a Sturt supporter. Watching the Crows does, however, make you a cringeworthy, bandwagoning, FUIC worshiping, Fruchoctopian, "heaps good" [sic] flog.

I'm not one of those.

Now you play exciting football, not 4-5 years ago.

Are you trying to be ironic here? From a Port supporter? :D

Im trying to figure out how being an Adelaide Crows supporter makes you a "bandwagoner"?

Adelaide has a very casual noob default choice stigma about em

I could write a seven part series of books purely on reasons to dislike the Adelaide Crows, and I wouldn't even have to include the 97/98 preliminary finals.

But I'll refrain. :p

the 98 grand final would probably have to make the cut

Crushing mems from when you were old enough to count it in months
Nah man, I was 2 years old, but I've watched the grand finals from 1996-1999 on VHS like 10 times each.
