Victory were the only team in a sports-mad town for a decade and have enjoyed plenty of success, of course they'll have plenty of brash, arrogant supporters.

I don't really identify with either A-League side in Melbourne, so I just haven't picked one/come to like one. Maybe one will grow on me eventually.
Depends on who you listen to I guess. Some people say that about different teams. The media likes to hate on Western Sydney with a passion, often calling us the worst supporters ever
Talk about easy pickings. They're 'sokkah' fans from Western Sydney, get em!

I don't follow the round ball game too closely, particularly overseas, and even I'm fed up of seeing the media's insular garbage in the papers every time a group of idiots ruin it for the majority.

I'd probably do the same, but I almost dislike Victory. They've essentially branded themselves as the state team, the "we were here first" line doesn't cut it for me because the A-League had a one-team-town policy and a 5-year moratorium enforcing that rule, and I've never really liked their kits. I couldn't imagine myself ever having any passion for the club, there are too many aspects of it that shit me.

I guess I'd probably jump on City, and be okay with that, once I got over the initial phase of hating myself because I support a Manchester City-aligned club.

Haha are you joking? Fox Sports couldn't stop circlejerking about "Wanderland" last season

It's only the mainstream media in NSW - a.k.a. The Daily Tele that rag on Wanderers - and pretty much all - "sokkah" supporters for being "violent"

I support a Manchester City-aligned club.

It won't be for too much longer if they keep playing like shit. The sheikh wants success, I'm not sure how patient he will be

Yeah as a viewer from afar the Wanderers appear to have been portrayed as a fairytale and an outstanding example of the A-League's success in expansion for two seasons (that's how long they've been around, right?)

Being a victory supporter I understand we where the first team in Victoria but I also know we share vic with City and I don't have a problem with that cause it makes a good derby not sure why victory people tell them 2 **** off, they are our cross town rivals what we do without the melbourne derby

Not sure what you're trying to say here, CodedAWg

Plus I like the wanderers they are mass club with mass support respect from me to them things happening in western sydney at the moment who would complain they just need a win
The better bloody not win on Boxing Day!!

Which self respecting Arsenal supporter could possibly support City? The kits are far superior to Victory's though I'll give them that. If Victory ever has their kits produced by Nike I'll buy a membership.
I got the victory away kit and it's nice material but I love the city kits and material I wanna buy both home and away!

At the very least you'd think they'd retain the name & colours, even if they lose the sponsorship. Melbourne City as a brand shits all over Melbourne Heart, even if it's been adopted.

I would think Manchester City would want to maintain that 'presence', if you could call it that. They'll just shovel more money in, or organise more short term loans to bring people through the gate.

I'm not all that into English football, either :p The few family members that are into the EPL support Arsenal, so that's the side I've adopted. I pretty much just play as them on FIFA.

I like and appreciate the sport as a spectacle, but I have literally no understanding of the positions on the ground, formations, tactics, the sport's history, anything like that. Nor do I follow it too closely. I wish I did though, but that'd require a significant amount of effort on my part and I couldn't be bothered figuring out where to start.

I'd probably do the same if Victory's kits were manufactured by Nike, as superficial as it sounds. I hate their current kits.

To be fair, Wanderers' inception into the A-League couldn't have gone any better. They have a timeless logo and kits, a quality manufacturer in Nike, a large supporter base and are already champions of Asia. Credit where it's due.

Oh yeah I have no problem with it, what I'm saying is they definitely haven't been slagged off aside from a couple of fear mongering (well as far as it goes in sports) articles from middle-aged truebluemoite journos.

Was thinking I might be the first, ha, Greater Gattsby beat me to it by a few minutes.

Still Xmas eve here but I'll be busy tomorrow (and Xmas will be over for most of you by the time we get done with gifting and Christmas breakfast here), so I'll wish you all a Merry Christmas and here's to hoping you got all you wished for! Cheers from USA!

I'd love them to drop the fat ugly chevron, reckon they look like shit on soccer tops - shame it's so integral to the identity.
You don't see it do you. It's an 'm' as in Melbourne
Its an m.png

Not really an M for Melbourne because the old Reebok kit didn't have white side panels. It just so happens that's how the current adidas template is and if you want to extrapolate alternate meanings then go for your life.
