Slightly edited the lmach/ScottFreo paint template:

I made a stitch pattern but it's a pretty hard to see against the white (will make it darker next time). Thoughts/suggestions?

I really like it. Only small mod I'd like to see is removing the grey from the outside of the maple leaf, so it doesn't look like the maple leaf has been chucked on top.

I haven't been on here for a while. This board lacks Bradles, where is he?
The last I heard of him was this time last year unfortunately. He told me he mainly hangs out on a separate VFL forum.

1) I didn't see this particular episode so I don't know if anyone on the show knew but I'm pretty certain I would have gotten it correct. :p

From the show Jeopardy!

2) If you haven't seen the little Play-Doh faux pas, check this out.

Would have loved to have seen the guesses for that one.

We really need an Australian version of Jeopardy, It's a great show.

I guess that just aired tonight (was posted on fb by USAFL) so I'm going to look and see if I can locate a clip over the next couple of days because I really want to see what the guesses were too. I'm betting the first wrong one would be "rugby", followed by silence from the other two. If I run across a clip, I'll post.

And, yes, it is a good show. It has traditionally run here right before Wheel of Fortune. Always found that odd; a show that requires a vast amount of useful knowledge in fields of science, history, classic literature, etc., followed by a show that requires people to be able to spell everyday words, although they do have the added burden of needing to know more than one word at a time to solve a puzzle. o_O

You need simplified logos. I strongly suggest you check out these links.
For AFL team logos:
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/simplified-club-logos-for-editing.669618/
For assorted sport leagues and their teams:
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/simplified-sport-logos.871617/
To simplify logos using Word 2007 and Paint:
http://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/how-to-simplify-a-logo-using-ms-paint-ms-word.890064/
But if you have Word 2010 onwards you'll need Paint.NET. It can also be used to make jumpers:

With paint.net you have to bump the contrast up to 100%
Cheers :)

The oi gives the hint off Australia (Aussie aussie Aussie, oi oi oi), but the word rugged makes my mind go straight to rugby.

If you do find a clip I'd love to see it. :)

Anyone know what's up with the naming conventions in soccer e.g. 'United' and 'City'

What are the origins, any weird meanings?

I think United used to be used after a merger. Wanderers and Rovers used to indicate teams that didn't have a home ground.

These days I think it's mainly based on what sounds cool.

I love when clubs named 'United' display a lack of unity - Adelaide United's Aurelio Vidmar comes to mind. :p

I'm always interested to hear how people came to support football clubs, particularly overseas clubs.

I'm pretty sure I just jumped on the Reds when I first played FIFA 2000 or something. Maybe it was also due to my brother, who hopped on United when we first sort of realised soccer and the EPL's existence. Naturally I jumped on their biggest rivals.

Arsenal?

My dad was born in Birmingham and my grandad supported Villa.
