Northern Terrace are the Melbourne 'Ultras' if you will. Southern Terrace is a diverse supporter group that is much more relaxed than than the NT.

Oh dude! I remember playing Prisoner of Society on Guitar Hero World Tour at a friends house! Really got me into that song. Hit That is a track that I listen to before I play footy, really gets me pumped up sometimes. I haven't listened to too much of their other stuff though.

I've forgotten about Grinspoon, they'd really disappeared off the radar for sometime.

I'll check out the other stuff you've mentioned later on today. Cheers for that mate!

Can I give half a like? Their last couple of albums haven't been up to the standards of their real early stuff and their self titled album, but having said that I still like their more recent stuff, just not as much.
I do absolutely agree about their quality live though. They were the first band I went to see live, at some Pepsi sponsered gig where 10 Pepsi product barcodes got you a ticket to see them and I saw them a second time in 2006. Both times at Thebby Theatre both times they were fantastic. Unfortunately I haven't been to see them live in a while but next time they tour Ill be there.

Dylan8 I don't know how you do it, but you're the one guy on this thread that makes me really admire you within a couple posts. I can be sitting here agreeing with something you've said, I'll scroll down the page and BAM, you'll say something and make me loathe whatever you're saying. To the point where I'm like "skip past this guys post, he's a dropkick". Then the process repeats again. Really weird.

Like for instance. In the past couple pages, some things I agreed with that you said, include the TV shows you suggested. IASIP is a ******* great show, so is Black Books. You suggest some good music and shit, make some valid points, then you make the statement " Foo Fighters are shit and blah blah blah" and I'm all like "awh **** this guy" and won't read anymore of your posts.

Not a criticism, but an observation. I find it really odd that I react to your posts.

Music taste is a very personal topic sometimes. It can reveal a lot about a person. I for example, like listening to a lot of Fun. and Owl City. Whereas others would prefer other bands. That being said, I don't mind songs by The Living End, Coldplay, ACDC and any other band around.

Exactly. Music is a very subjective topic, no one knows what different people take from different songs. Could be a lyric that means a lot to that one person. Could be some background info regarding an artist/band/song, who knows.

Like for instance, my favorite band is Pearl Jam. That's because when I was going through a depressed state when I was 15-17 they were the band I was really into. Their music resonated with me at a core level and Eddie's lyrics spoke to me in a way that no one in my immediate social circle could at the time. Their music was the theme to my life while I figured out who I wanted to be and learnt to accept who I was. In a way the defined who I am now. Or at least what I listen to now.

Its important to remember that music can change a person on so many levels. Music is definitely subjective. I may get the "you're music is so old" spiel from my friends, but if you don't know what it means to me, you won't get it.

I can kinda agree. I have all their albums and as long as you aren't expecting a different sound or a flawless album you can enjoy them. They've definitely mellowed as a band, but that's to be expected I think. They know their fanbase and limits as musician's, so I don't expext them to largely modify their sound. That being said though, Wasting Light is right up their with The Colour And The Shape. Phenoninal album IMO.

Sonic Highways ain't too bad either. Takes a bit to get into it, but well worth it. Watching the TV series definitely makes you understand why they did certain things on each track.
