Re: Footy Jumpers Board Random Discussion Thread

Surely just the most two popular jumpers can play off against each other??? In a hypothetical situation, why does it matter if there is a clash?

Re: Footy Jumpers Board Random Discussion Thread

Usually it gets covered in the media... this year's is on 21 September.

Re: Footy Jumpers Board Random Discussion Thread

I guess it doesnt really. I jsut got the impression from a couple of people that we would play the AJL finals on the same model as the AFL, the home team gets a "home ground advantage" (which hasnt been decided yet) and the away team wears what ever doesnt clash.

Ahh well I think Im jumping the gun a bit here. I will poll you guys on every different option there is for the AJL Finals series, and that will answer all these questions.

:EDIT: Ahhk so that is an option then.

Re: Footy Jumpers Board Random Discussion Thread

Based on the current Ladder (after Round 15) the GF will be Port vs Melb. Port have the "home ground advantage" and will wear their home kit. What do Melbourne wear?? Ive made up the rest of the finals as "home ground advantage" vs what ever they will wear that will not clash/most likly to wear. This means Melbourne will have to wear their white clash.
No it won't. It matters who wins the AJL finals games.

Re: Footy Jumpers Board Random Discussion Thread

Yeh it most probably will, depending on the rules we employ in the finals series, these two teams will get the best end of the stick and make it to the GF, because they are one and two ATM.

If you read some of my other posts about this issues, rather then replying half-cocked, you will realise that Ive done a AJL Finals series based on the current ladder. I found the results for the match ups during the season and based it off that, and where there wasnt a prior match up I based it on what I thought would win, not my favourite, what I thought would win.

Re: Footy Jumpers Board Random Discussion Thread

Just got back from a bloody good holiday in Queensland/Northern New South Wales. Started a bit oddly when we were paged in the Koru Lounge (lounge for Air NZ "Gold Elite" members :p), and we thought we'd bloody done something wrong. In the end it was because we'd been upgraded to Business Class.....

Hit the theme parks on the Gold Coast, as well as sitting around and watching every game of footy (don't mention the Dons) and all the review shows like "On The Couch" on TV, something I can't do at home. Gold Coast Stadium is starting to take shape too, looks good. Hit the shops too, I recommend "Goodscore" in Ashmore. Bloody paradise for checking out all the jumpers, just a problem when they don't have jumpers in your size. Drove down to the NSW border and then went down into Tweed Heads before getting back to the apartment to watch the rugby. Hit the beach and so on, having a swim in mid winter with all the other Kiwis (the only ones hard enough :p). Went up to Brisbane, and blew quite a bit at the shops, hung out at the South Bank and so on, as well as taking a visit to 'Straya Zoo. I found it nice to finally go there after 15 years. I grew up watching his shows, and to be honest, the place was brilliant compared to our zoos, but it really hit home that such a great bloke committed to such a great cause no longer roams the earth. Quite saddening. The best part though, when I stocked up on footy mags, to add to the Bomber Season Preview 2010 and NAB Cup 2010 Record. I went to the Gabba (we stayed next to it) and asked if they had any copies of the record. They sent me upstairs to reception where the lady was nice enough to give me one from each of their home games, as well as other Lions books. The Lions books will remain unloved :D. Always a good chance to get a bit more in touch with the footy world. At least Hawthorn show their weekly TV show here now too. The best part would have been getting to meet Jonathon Brown in the carpark though :). I love your country, just not the national sports teams.

Bought myself the 2010 Dons jumper to replace the 2009 one that I got a bloodstain on from footy at school. Had to go to Rebel and pay $10 more after Goodscore didn't have my size in stock. Might point out some features in the template for Smeagle if he so wishes.

In other news, Aker's contract has been torn up, with the shreds burnt, and then the flames put out with the his Arctic hair.

Re: Footy Jumpers Board Random Discussion Thread

Anyone know of any good shops that create jumpers from designs. So any shops that creates cutom jumpers, specifically in Vic.

Thanks fellas

Re: Footy Jumpers Board Random Discussion Thread

Nope. Probably a bit late now.

Do tell, aidan.

I'll point the things out when my connection speed reboots :thumbsu: (I've gone over the cap). Which is because with Telecom New Zealand, 5GB is $40. And over in Aus, with AAPT, 100GB is $40. Which is a f!$%ing disgrace because Telecom own AAPT or something like that.

Here in New Zealand, the teenage kids often have 'sports clothing trends'. Which may sound overly metrosexual. Generally when you are playing sport or in PE or whatever, you'll get 10-20 kids in the class all wearing the same sort of thing. The latest one was that all the kids would be wearing the NRL club shorts produced under licence by ISC. I didn't kick onto that one, because I plainly don't like the idea of people cheaping out when there are authentics where the money from your purchase actually finds its way to your club. Though, lately, around the schools (after rugby and so on), I've started to see quite a few kids wearing footy jumpers, which pleases me. So, Rebel Sport, get your shit together and start selling footy jumpers here!

Anyone know how I could get the AFL Record from each Bombers game sent to me here in NZ? I'm keen to find out. I'm gonna purchase a membership for next season too. I have a good feeling about the future.

I read it online, just actually like the whole 'owning' it thing. Exactly why my room is littered with magazines and match-day programmes from Rugby, League, Football, Australian Rules, Hockey, Basketball, Cricket, Golf and so on. I happen to quite like the team pages with all the statistics/records too :p. Any idea about that if I subscribe I get the team pages? Or I'll just write to them asking for some freebies :D.Yes, I'm a cheapo.

Was pleased to find a selection of Australian Rules books in Borders Albany today. I'd expect the bigger one in the CBD to have more. Hoping to discuss some issues about the whole accessibility to the game in this country with NZAFL via email.

What a shame, coxy has been trying to get us to vote for Wirra on Dancing for the Stars, and now he ends up walking out... what a waste of time for coxy

Did he really!!?? Why??

He knew he was the worst dancer and didn't think it would be fair if someone else got kicked out ahead of him.

Votes aren't wasted though, money from every vote has gone to the David Wirrpanda Foundation

What did he think he signed up for a dancing contest or a popularity contest between soapie "stars", C grade "stars" and sporting has beens. No offence ment to Wirra in any way just everyone else on the show.

That is good.

If that is true, isn't that kinda of "rigging" in a way, as people would be voting for the foundation, and not the skill of the dancing, I know this technically is incorrect but just saying...

Taking an idea from the Hawks board here, thought it would be a good idea to get this thread back up.
