and seriously, what do you plan on using it for that you dont use a computer for?

this is coming from someone who has an ipad in their house
Interesting point actually. I guess the apps and just the general enjoyment of using it, very convenient and comfortable.

Planning on buying any extensions? The lack of a USB port is very odd, and I know you can buy a keyboard to hook up to the iPad as well, because apparently typing on it is not very ergonomic.

Gawwd. 26 yesterday in Birkenhead and now it's 27 degrees outside. And it's meant to be one of the hottest summers ever. And considering when it was 32.4 (airport) and 34 (Birkenhead) in 2009 I just didn't get out of the pool for 2 hours.......Shouldn't have bought a house in the warm part of Auckland.

Why would you want more than 25 degrees?

Erm, I don't, if that wasn't clear. 25 degrees in Auckland is as warm as the 35s you get in Christchurch because of the humidity.

And yet here in Geelong it rains nearly every Saturday. First time in ages (and I think maybe forever) that only one two-dayer game has been completed before the summer break. Odd stuff.

Don't think we've had any considerable rain for weeks. We didn't have a single washout, and we won the Year 11 Championship.

NZ is warm, while we're getting absolutely pelted with rain (especially on the weekends)?

What is the world coming to?

Saw Metallica a week ago for the second time in a couple of months, they were sensational as usual, played a lot of obscure songs, which I'll always be grateful for. I've been to more gigs this year than any other, and I've met all the guys from my two favourite bands (as well as seeing them live, one of them in France), and seen my other favourite live as well. I can't complain. :)

Yes. Auckland's never cold. Ever. Ever ever ever. Either raining (but still 15-20 degrees), or muggy and 25 degrees, or sunny and about 30. Christchurch, it barely rains, but is nut shrivelling in winter, and climbs towards 40 in summer. Wellington is wet and windy no matter what time of year. Shithole.

Went into the city last night after work to do a bit of Christmas shopping. In the end I didnt buy anything for anyone except myself:p

I went into EzyDVD to have a bit of a look and they were having a pre-Christmas sale and had, probably, 2000 DVDs in bargin bins and I looked through all of them and found
-1989 Grand Final (Hawthorn def. Geelong, Ablett Snr. Norm Smith Medal in a losing team)
-1994 Grand Final (WCE thumped Geelong)
-Revenge of the Nerds II,
-IFC-Warrior's Challenge Siera (MMA cage fighting)
-Once Were Warriors
all 5 DVDs for $35

Im looking forward to watching all of these especially the 1989 GF.

Haven't seen the '89 GF in a few years, but I still have it on VHS. I particularly love the first quarter, after that (ie. when Geelong gets back into the game), it gets a bit boring. :p

Mmmm...Wikipedia claims "it was, is and best there ever will be." Not really I just like throwing that line around:p Seriously though Wiki claims it is one of the best GF's.

Is this the game where Dermie get hammered in the first few minutes?? The one the Toyota Footy Flashback ad was based on.

It is often declared the best GF of all time. What a great game it was, must watch it again soon.

And yes it is, you will see Dermie get hammered.

Yeh the final scorline and the brief write-up about the game on the back of the DVD make me think it was a damn good game.

Ohhh goodie:):pIm looking forward to it, especially after the sh!thouse commentary on AFL 2004 Premiership Edition. Just out of the blue after a goal "Nuthin from me Denis."

Dermie suffered broken ribs and a bruised kidney from that hit. That's the same game that Dipper also had broken ribs and a punctured lung, Platten had concussion and Tucky split the webbing in his hand. And this was when there were only 2 blokes on the bench. And we still won. Inspirational stuff!

Thats a real top effort from all those boys. To have four of your best players sustain injuries and still win the game is pretty inspirational stuff.

I remember watching a Port game ages ago and by the end of the game we had five injuries and had someone standing in the middle of the ground, injured, for the last couple of minutes.

Anyone ever been able to find a place that does state guernseys? They seem like a real pain in the bum to find and I imagine the only thing that will see them available will be a SoO.
