1. Australian Football
2. Rugby League
3. Cricket
4. Football

One thing I've always wondered, why is the A-League played in the summer  Isn't soccer supposed to be a winter sport, and be played the same time that local clubs play too? Is it just because they know they can't compete with the AFL?

When I think about it, they changed the NSL to the current months the A-League is played in around 1989, so the A-League is just carrying on from that. Althugh yes, a lot of it would be not wanting to compete for ratings/attendances with the AFL in WA, SA and VIC as well as the rugby codes in NSW, QLD and NZ....

Still seems a little bit silly to me. Bugger playing in 30 degree weather almost every week :thumbsd: Wouldn't be the best as a supporter watching it in that weather every week either

Yeh, I'd much rather watch soccer in the full glory of Summer. About 10 of us from school will be flagging 1st and 2nd XI cricket to head to Eden Park to lend our support to the Nix against the Reds on the 19th...Haven't been to a Wellington game for ages....Went to a couple of Victory home games last season though.

Tbh I'd rather sit on warm concrete than cold and wet concrete!;)

I'm not a hot weather person. I'd rather be at home with the air-con blasting half naked than sweating my **** off at the soccer or the cricket. I don't mind going to the cricket every now and then but I couldn't go every week. One or two days and I'm buggered.
The thing is you can't exactly strip or cool down any more at the game but when its cold you can just pile heaps of clothes on. Probably helps that I sit undercover at AAMI and don't feel the cold much ;)

1. Footy
2. Cricket (just behind footy)
3. Soccer (mainly toon and heart)
4. Basketball (mainly Knicks and Tigers)
5. Rugby Union (especially World Cup :thumbsu:)

I also enjoy the Ice Hockey at the Icehouse and I went to see the Penguins at Mellon Arena and really loved it, so it's just behind Rugby.

PAFC, I love the summer. Beaches, babes and backyard cricket. Plus I've got a wonderful dark complexion.....The first swim in our pool last week marked the beginning of a great time of the year! The only thing missing is footy. Ah well.

Don't get me wrong, I love summer too! Probably my favourite time of they year, mainly for the reasons that you mentioned and that I have no school, there is christmas and its my birthday :) I just prefer to watch live sport in winter, that's all

Went to the movies Tonight and watched the cup
Towards the end of the movie they crossed to sum pub in sydney.
And what happened to be signed & framed on the wall in the background??
A 1996 or 97 pre season jumper!!!
Imo was the only good part of the movie. Shocking acting and plot was a bit far fetched from the true story

Saw it a few weeks ago. Noticed the jumper there- was quite an odd jumper to have there. Didn't mind the movie personally, although there were a huge number of celebrity cameos.
