Haven't seen it, but I assume it's about the demise of the Seattle team? I don't follow NBA much but when I found out the Sonics had disappeared, and somehow resurfaced as Oklahoma City, I was quite surprised. Probably because I remember the days of Shawn Kemp and it seemed like they'd be around for the long haul.

You would be going too then? You seem to have cry on this board regularly.

This :thumbsu: In fact I can't think of anyone who complains more on this board  You dish out a lot of shit but as soon as someone has 'half a go' back at you, you call for the mods... :/

Euro 2012's groupings have been announced.

1726736_w2.jpg

Group A is assembled of reasonably weak teams. But that throws up the possibility of tight games, and a competitive group. I'd like to see Russia progress, and I believe they're a reasonable chance. I tip the Czechs to join them.

The other three groups seem reasonably tough. Netherlands, Germany, and Portugal are obviously the contenders in the B group. The battle for the top place (I think) is between the former two. Germany and the Dutch evidently have a strong squad and have in form players. Saying that, I'd barely hold surprise at a Portugal progression.

A lot of people echo the sentiments of feeling bad for Ireland. After finally qualifying, they're consorted with two heavyweights. Personal opinion: Spain to top the group. They'll give a staunching push to win it. Italy second. Ireland and Croatia seem the likely suitors to occupy the bottom. Yet I hold a suspicion that Italy might fail to progress... An Ireland appearance in the latter stages would make me happy.

Group D will see England qualify top. Little hope held for them to make it past the semi finals. France should occupy second.

What are the games you guys are looking forward to? For me, these are the picks of the bunch: Netherlands - Germany, Germany - Portgual, Portugal - Netherlands, and Spain against Italy. I'm pushing for a Dutch success (I've always adored their wonderful kit, and there's the RvP connection). Though I always fancy England - not because I think they'll be successful, just because I seem to gravitiate toward supporting the Three Lions.

Always had a soft spot for russia. Would love to see them progress although they have thrown away good oppurtunities before.

I hope England fail just for the lols :p

Anyone here have or play Age of Empires? Just reinstalling it onto my laptop to give me something else to do these holidays :) Might get into online if someone wants to go give me a game sometime

Just spent the last week in Christchurch working as a tradie. Effing awesome experience. Town is still trashed but most of the place is tidied up (apart from a few potholes in the roads). What was really spooky was the paint on the windows in town stating "CLEAR" or so on, and that it was about bodies:(....
Otherwise, you would not have known the place has been shaken by thousands of earthquakes over the last year. The people are upbeat, but they seem to walk everywhere really quickly. And the birds are so much better looking than in Auckland :thumbsu:. Got talking to a few, but seemed disinterested once they learnt we were "Aucklanders".
Makes me realise how much I love the place and how much I still want to be there (despite the earthquakes). Going to talk the olds round into letting me do Year 13 at St Bede's College (where I was going and where most of my mates are) and that I'll live with Grandma (seeing she's been suggesting that ever since we moved...).

Tranlucent material? You mean Glad wrap :p?

Went to the local ANZ to deposit a lazy $20 into my account seeing I couldn't find a use for it. The silly teller gives me back the receipt and the $20 note back. I walk out wondering why....But then the private Catholic education instilled in me (:D) told me to walk back in and tell her she'd made a mistake and give her the $20 back. I was then told I was "too honest" and that I had "made her day". I'm not saying I'm a better bloke than you guys, but that made me feel like a very decent c**t :p.

YES!!!!! Getting my prison bars guernsey from Alberton next week!!!! :D :D :D

Would the money have been the tellers though? ANZ is a relatively big company. You should've kept that money.

My girlfriend and I were walking to a Hype DC near Daimaru. As we walked into the shop, a perfectly clean fifty was just sitting there. I told her to ask these two blokes near by if it was theres. You could tell they were entertaining the idea of saying "um, yes, it is"...

If it's a wallet, it's totally different. But money, especially in central Melbourne, it's kind of futile finding an owner.

Then a day later I lost my wallet with all my cards. Karma?

So we are lead to a new topic - what's the most amount of money you've stumbled across? :)

For me it's only a redback - I was actually at the cinemas and still had a 2 coin lying around in my pocket after the movie. Won a toy Mario in the crane machine (I usually dislike the toys but I love trying to win) and then turned around and saw $20 on the ground. :thumbsu:

Well it wasn't just me, i was with my mum but anyway. Me and my mum where at Hungry Jacks a week before pay day, we where flat broke with things to pay. And as we went to sit down, there was a $100 note pinned to the ground by the leg of the chair :O amazing

Lo and behold, I have made my triumphant return, yada yada yada...

Thank God. You've been missed. It's odd how once the board has a mod for a while that as soon as they'er away for a bit, you realise how much they are needed. :):thumbsu:

EDIT: A few thread merges and threads ticking over 1,000 replies. That's about it for the big stuff.

Why do threads have to get locked after 1000 replies? Whilst there's obviously a logical reason I've never understood why
