Who cares if Leon is "inconsistent", he's a two-time All-Australian and was one of the best half backs in the game. To pass him up is possibly ill-fated. At least in a Collingwood positive he stayed a one-club player.

I understand Neon Leon wanted to be in WA. An AFL side was a preference, but any footy was secondary to his family.

The story about him wanting to go to SA, as he had family there, was very thin, and nearly inaccurate.

Don't get me wrong, too good a footballer not to be playing AFL next year but just because we were the last ones to rule him out doesn't mean we should feel obliged to take him. As explained, he simply just didn't fit in well with our situation both football-wise and financially and McCarthy should prove more benefit at least in the long-term. I doubt we of all clubs would have been able to pay him more than Collingwood were going to anyway, which was his initial reason for leaving the club. If what SA says is right then he wouldn't have really wanted to come to us either, also making things more difficult. Would have fitted far better into either Freo or WC imo, both of whom are realistically premiership contenders in the next couple of years. He wouldn't provide much value at all to either of the SA clubs so it simply wasn't worthwhile. Freo were understandably committed and more interested in a kpp in Dawson so I think WC would have been the ideal fit. Obviously they had reasons for not choosing him too though so unfortunately for Leon his options were quite limited

Not having a go at anyone, just a very interesting observation I made. This is still a pretty small board though so we need as many contributors as possible. A few more members certainly wouldn't go astray, that's all I'm getting at. I know it's a public forum and all but I don't warm all that well to the idea of complete strangers reading our conversations every day. Just for some of them to pop in every now and then would be nice I think :)

Yeah, to an extent, but this is still one of the smallest out there. Most of the other bigger boards seem to function alright so I'm sure we could do the same. Surely a few more regular members wouldn't go astray.

Yeah, there's heaps of em. Never really looked at those numbers properly tbh but there's a lot more than I imagined. I'm sure we all used to, I was for quite a while too. Anyway, if you're reading this as a guest and visit frequently, you're more than welcome by me to join :):thumbsu: Maybe some of these other guys aren't so warm to the idea afterall but I think it's time some (not all) of you make the transition :p

I found the FGD board in September last year. Used it mainly for design tips and to see any new jumpers etc. Joined when I saw the original of the competition that I'm running now, NAFL. Put in a bid for a franchise and it failed 'cause I was new. So I was just watching the board for a while with the occasional post. Then earlier this year I started being more active. Only thing I regret is my username :p:o:(

For the record I found this site and board quite a few years ago and used to visit it on and off. Similarly, I mainly used it to keep track of new guernseys and see what ideas others had. I used to draw a few of my own guernseys and convert some of them to digital images but I think I really got into designing as such when Smeagle's paint tutorial/templates came out. For whatever reason I stumbled upon it again early-mid this year and started to get really into things again, particularly now that the board has expanded so much, so decided to make an account. It actually then took me another couple of months to actually post something. For some reason I was scared of plagiarism and didn't want the whole world seeing and using my designs :o But now, as you all know, I visit and post on this board about as much as anyone. Nothing wrong with being a guest I suppose, I just think it would be better to have a few more new members around, that's all :)

It looks very impressive, but I'd be very hesitant paying 10 bucks for it. I'll wait for some reviews before buying it.
 
Was going to buy it as soon as it came out but $10 is pretty pricey might wait for a sale which hopefully there will be at some stage

Those graphics look quite impressive.

Though I could imagine the issues with those right-hand buttons. Far too many of them. Are they like FIFA in which they change dependent on whether you have possession? If so, that could be very difficult.

Well done to them though. If I had an iPhone I'd buy it (my sister does, so hopefully there's a demo soon-ish).
 
Just saw the coke unleashes ad up the top of the page and was wondering how many people have used the promotion. I'm on about 250 points and thinking of getting the coke towel.
