So, they've been talking about the Nevada Caucus on the news. I can't help but wonder, what is the plural of caucus? Cauci? Caucuses?

Plus, the word just sounds filthy this early in the morning.

Plural of Caucus is Caucuses.

Cricket FTW. Our school's 2nds needed 80 to win from 13 overs when I came to the wicket at 5/160. Two of my partners got out in quick succession (one had 81) while I was going balls out and creaming everything straight and through the covers. I ended up getting 31 off 18 before being dumb and taking my eyes off a lofted on drive and losing leg bail with 25 runs needed. Somehow our number 10 went bang and hit some massive sixes (boundary on our number two field that we played on is about 50 metres square and 70 straight) and we got there 9 wickets down and an over to spare, with the same number 10 hitting a massive horn to finish the game. We all couldn't believe we'd won something from such a crappy position. The best game I'd ever been involved in.

I just got accused of being a paedophile.
Just want to point out to the individual - who is on this board - that when you throw mud, even if mucking around, it sticks.

That's terrible Omega. Was it a public post on BF? Or via PM? Either way, there's no room for that on this board or on any website. Without knowing the full circumstances I won't make a rash call but hopefully some form of disciplinary action can be taken towards the culprit.

It was on Facebook. Pretty much all I'll say about it now is that said person deleted me before I could explain I wasn't being 100% serious.

While it is a pretty harsh term, being called a pedophile is more of just a joke. That is, unless the poster was properly serious.

It's not funny if you're the person receiving it. About as funny as being called a rapist, or how Arabs feel when they're called terrorists.

I understand it is offensive, but just be aware that maybe the person saying it didn't intend to insult. I'm sure it still hurts though.

Hopefully this doesn't sound naive but I believe it relates to what you are getting at Saints1966.

If someone refers to someone as a "pedo" it is often less serious than if they use the full term without abbreviation. Unfortunate as it is these days, many teenagers do use the term "pedo" to describe old people quite blasé without actually considering how serious it is.

Best of luck Omega in getting this resolved. :)

BTW, it may seem like I am the accused trying to back myself up, but I've only got 1 BF user as a facebook friend.

I am off to the ODI tomorrow which will be my first international cricket game. What should I expect as a member of the crowd?

Are the trains in Melbourne dangerous late at night?

Expect both teams to bat in a rather pedestrian fashion - finding the boundaries at the MCG is *very* difficult.

Depending on where you sit, you'll either get sunburned or be in shade all day. I'd recommend shade all day, because there's a better class of fan there. I am of course referring to the new stand :) The Southern Stand (which is only 20 years old, mind you) has your "lower class of cricket fan", especially down the bottom level. Bay 13 used to be about having a few hijinks but now people go out of their way to be stupid... inflatable objects other than beach balls, drinking about 3000 beers between them, and a friend says once he went down that way and someone had brought in *squid* (bait) and was throwing it around.

Trains in Melbourne dangerous? In the city, no. It's when they get to the further-out stations that they're a problem, particularly on the south eastern lines (Caulfield line trains). Can't remember recent disturbances on the western or northern lines, the problems have been in the south.

You should be OK if you are with a group - it's not an isolated end-point, and a lot of people will be getting off there, e.g. people living in Werribee, Wyndham Vale etc.
