Adelaide will be pushing for top 4, same with Essendon. Freo will finish 7th and Richmond will slump after the bye.

Collingwood in 7th and Adelaide in 5th. Really??

Things wrong with this ladder:
- Collingwood at 7th
- Essendon not in the top eight
- Geelong at 2nd

- Collingwood's gonna slide
- My mistake, shall swap them with Freo.
- Cats' gonna make a huge winning spree near the end of the season.

I'm not hopeful about Saints v Eagles in a couple of weeks :( I feel an absolute thumping coming along. At least I get to see the boys in person not on tv.

So, here's my Opinion on your ladder Andonis.
1: WCE - swap them with Geelong, call me crazy but West Coast still need to show me a little bit more and Geelong seem to be able to keep coming back when we think their finished.
2: GEEL - ^
3: HAW - About right, they still rely too much on a few players and lack the depth you need to win a premiership.
4: CARL - Not sure about Carlton just yet, they still need a few more key position players before they get to the top, I would seriously consider using either, Judd, Murphy or Gibbs as trade bait for a good tall forward.
5; ADEL - I'm confused about our form right now, at the end of the month will know whether it's top four or lower part of the eight.
6: SYD
7: COLL - I wouldn't put them down there just yet, wait till the players are totally used to Bucks.
8: FREO - If they consistently performed yes, but they don't, sides like North, Bulldogs and Saints are well ahead of them.

9: (dead serious) RICH - They won't even get that high. (On a slightly related note, anyone seen "Ninth Again")
10: NORTH - I dunno, they've got what it takes to get in the eight I reckon.
11: STK
12 PORT - They won't get that high, I, like everyone else, thought they'd made big improvements but Sunday showed theyre the same old Power.
13 WBD
14 ESS - No. No. No. They could make top 4, not top 14!
15 MELB - I dunno, I can see them losing to GWS.
16 GCS - they'll go bottom, GWS aren't as talented but they fight a lot harder and win more contested ball.
17 BRIS - Brissy aren't that bad.
18 GWS - See GCS.

Gold Coast almost beat Fremantle, played well against Essendon and have double the experience of GWS so there is no way they will finish last. Also I honestly only see Melbourne beating GWS once and maybe Brisbane.

I don't get how people say we lack depth? Have you seen the players who are playing for our reserves?

Chance Bateman- very experienced premiership player
Cameron Bruce- very experienced
Kyle Cheney- has played very well win given the chance at the top level
Xavier Ellis- was one of our best players in the '08 flag
Clinton Young- very good player when up and running. Have you seen his left foot?
Tom Murphy- solid and mature backman who captained us last year when others were out
Jack Gunston- very classy player
Bradley Hill- brother of Stephen, very fast young player
Stephen Gilham- premiership fullback, very reliable

You can certainly question us for other things, but how can you say 'they lack the depth to win a premiership' when all these players are in the 2's?

Are you serious? Bruce and Bateman are now liabilities at AFL level; they're in the VFL because they are no longer up to it.

Xavier Ellis is nowhere near Hawthorn's best 22 and all signs point to him being somewhere else (either in the AFL or not) when this contract is up.

Kyle Cheney's best ever game may have been his debut with Melbourne in 2009. That's not a good sign.

I'll give you Clinton Young, good player who looks like he's still got plenty to offer.

Tom Murphy captained Hawthorn in Round 24 last year in a similar way to how the domestic Twenty-20 teams would get someone like Andrew Johns or Hamish McLachlan to captain them for a game. He's simply not that good (as if being unable to get a spot in Hawthorn's defence doesn't indicate that).

It would have to be a worry that Jack Gunston already finds himself in the VFL, considering the hype surrounding his recruitment.

Brad Hill has been a sub in one AFL game (after which he was immediately dropped) and was a second round pick last year. He hasn't proved anything yet.

And as for Gilham, I'm not sure 'reliable' is an adjective you should use for a player who has missed 39 AFL games in the past three years.

The question wasn't about whether they were best 22 players, it was about our depth.

I do admit that Bruce and Bateman are way past their best and their output has been very limited at the top level of late. But their experience is very valuable in a team sense.

Xavier definetely needs to get back in the side this year. He is very injury prone but his best is 22 quality. You are right though, he is a long ways from that.

Have you watched many Hawthorn games this year? Because Kyle Cheney has been very good when given the chance. His game against West Coast in particular was very good. He's not a skills based player or a guy that will rack up the possessions, but he is a very good one percenter player. Great depth player to have.

The last few years I have been getting very sick of all the bagging of Tom Murphy one here, especially by our own supporters. He's a Cheney type, not a player who's going to set the world on fire, but he does the team things. He's very good at stopping an opponent and has done some very good jobs on Adma Goodes in the past. He also has strong leadership skills. Remember that Sam Mitchell was playing in that GCS game, but Tom did captain over him. But he isn't in the best 22, for sure.

Granted, Gunston hasn't performed this year when given the chance. His best games were the two were he was sub. But he does have potential.

I never said Brad Hill had proved himself, but he is an exciting propect. The only way he is going to prove himself is playing VFL and AFL matches. He is still good depth.

Gilham is very reliable when playing. Can take the opposition's best forward most matches.
