Because I have to go to basketball training soon, and it would probably have ticked over 1000 when I was out. Plus, I'm lazy and making it early saved me from moving posts.

Yes, I agree the Australian language is too slang-dominated, not enough intelligence is put into the words we speak. However, until this changes, what really is the point of broadening our vocabulary over the internet when it isn't needed?

It's necessary because it separates the intelligent posts from the stupid ones. You know the ones I mean, they're written by people who think they're texting and need to use abbreviations just in case, and their shift keys are broken, except when putting in exclamation points.

Just got reminded of the derp on here a year or two back who said that a one-off guernsey is a "one-of" because it's short for "one-of-a-kind". Facepalm!
