Cyril's overrated.
He just gets in the right spot at the right time. It's not like he's a god.
I'm not debating whether Cyril is or isn't overrated, but this is the worst logic I've ever seen for this debate. You think he just gets in the right spot in the right time by coincidence? You don't think he's great at reading the play and working himself to where the ball is going?
Using this logic, Wayne Carey wasn't that good a player because 'He just gets in the right spot at the right time'. Gary Ablett, Dane Swan and Chris Judd are overrated because they 'just get in the right spot at the right time'. You have to be in the right spot at the right time to get the ball in the first place. That applies to any player in any position. You have to read the play and get yourself to the ball. It doesn't just come to you.
Anyway, you can't deny that Cyril was a huge influence in the result of the game last night. One of our best.
