Who cares about Jobe, Jason Blake was the big winner tonight.

I like how Sam Mitchell comes equal 2nd in the Brownlow, but doesn't make the AA team.
Or how sauce Jacobs towled nicnat.

Some idiot put 25k for James Blake NOT to get a point. What's the point of that?

seewhatididthere?

James Blake plays tennis. Also what is a point, Brownlow-medal wise?

Was considering a Watson/Cotchin/Mitchell trifecta at 50 to 1, but I eventually just put down 100 for a Watson/Cotchin quinella at 8 to 1.

Woo.

Griffen and Stanton had a good start but a bad end. Congratulations to Jobe Watson and Jason Blake.

Nic Nat shouldn't have been All Australian.
He got the most brownlow votes of any ruckman, the most champion data points of any ruckman and the most coaches votes of any ruckman. He also leads ruckman for contested possessions, 2nd for goals (Cox is 1st), 2nd highest hitout win percentage (behind Sandilands), 2nd highest hitout-to-advantage rate of top-10 hitout winners. AND he wins 78% of possessions from a contest: the highest percentage of any player in the competition.

Yes, and I believe that warrants him a spot in the team, not as ruckman. Sauce provided the best service to his teammates as a ruckman.

You do realise ruckmen do more than just...ruck, right?

Yes, but I don't believe Nic Nat does enough rucking, and alot of the stuff he does around the ground just isn't clean enough.

What do you mean it isn't 'clean' enough?

He definitely deserves it, Jacobs doesn't do enough around the ground to warrant a call-up.

He makes way too many mistakes and his kicking is atrocious. And Jacobs takes lots of marks around the ground and gets to plenty of marking contests and gives us plenty of targets.

Are you kidding? Everyone always thinks just because he has an awkward kicking style, his kicking is bad. He's actually a good kick for a ruckmen and has a higher kicking efficiency than Jacobs does. He leads Jacobs in all of the following stats:

(On averages per game)
Handballs
Goals
Tackles
Inside 50s
Goal assists
Contested possessions
Effective disposals
Contested marks
Marks Inside 50
Clearances
One percenters
Bounces

While Jacobs only beats NN in 5 stats:

Kicks
Disposals
Marks
Hitouts
Rebound 50s

Naitanui is more effective in games and beats every ruckman in almost every area, that's why he is AA ruckman.

Ok, this is at least the second time that there has been a massive influx of competitions being started at random and I think it is about time new rules are created on the starting of competitions on here.

This is not an attack on any specific person or persons, as it has occurred before and I am sure it will again.

Just because someone has an idea shouldn't mean that a competition is started, for me I think there should be some guidelines put in place including:

* Minimum number of posts before being able to create a competition. This will stop people from joining and starting comps with their first few posts.

* Discussion of proposed competition in a thread (possibly this one or a special stickied one) before actually posting it. This removes chances of repeat competitions/old competitions being rerun too soon (seen people don't seem to check back through previous posts)

Plus the following which I have been thinking about for a while now (may not be universally accepted or I may be the only one who feels like this, but I think there have been times people in here have been ripped off in the past)

- Not for fun competitions or fantasy league design requests, but for those involving actual production of uniforms or logos to be used on uniforms:

* Specific credit (outside of the forum) or some sort of reward for the winning/chosen designer on these competitions.

-- Especially seen some of these in the past that have had rewards have mysteriously ended with no actual winner/chosen designer and the person who posts the thread also goes missing (which leads me to think that promised rewards were never on the table). Also means that the person who designs something to actually be used will receive some sort of credit for their time and effort.

-- Also means that people don't just come on here expecting a design to be created, instead they should be asking for something and are willing to give back in return.

* Note added that all designs submitted are not immediately able to be used. Winning designer MUST be contacted (by pm) and give their final permission for their design to be used and discussion of any "payment" (by payment I mean that it may just be a thank you, but could also be a jersey/guernsey or gift card/money. Completely up to the designer and person who created the competition to decide upon).

** Any design found to have been used by a club/individual without permission of the designer can be (again up to the designer) challenged as a breach of copyright.

The reason for the above is to actually recognise the work and time put in by the designers on this forum, yes we all design for fun but we should also not be taken for granted. I do thank those who have followed though with rewards/payments for designs, but just as many or even more of these competitions have has the mysterious disappearing member and I am sure that some of our designs are now out there being used without us even knowing. Or if the member decides to not use any of our designs then they should at least notify everyone of this decision.

That is my rant, thoughts?

I'd like to see the workshop tag used more. Plenty of these competitions that have opened up recently could have worked perfectly fine as a workshop. Not everything needs to be a competition.

Craegus has some good ideas when it comes to rules and guidelines, is there anything else that could possibly be added in?
