Well done to Sydney, although we got more free kicks (I think) but the non-free kicks, the timing of the free kicks and the positioning on the free kicks is what really hurt us. Not blaming it in the umpires by any stretch of the imagination. We played poorly in the second quarter and the last part of the fourth. We had it to win and fluffed it. It really puts the $300 into perspective for a ticket and the gutting feeling afterwards. Experience was actually very amazing and I know have a new favourite band

Stratton was terrible. And there were some indiscipline free kicks that Hawthorn gave away. The 50m penalty for over throwing the ball to McVeigh and when Lewis Jetta did his big run and after he kicked it Cyril pushed Jetta in the back (just to list a few). Hawks will be back next year though, more motivated and mature. You can't get success, unless you taste failure. IMO Hawks will come very close to winning the flag next year.

I'm glad you enjoyed it though, it is the best day in Melbourne every year and the weather never fails to disappoint*. I was also a bit unsure about Temper Trap but was very impressed with their performance and now have a few new favourite songs. Did you stay for the concert after the game? I was going to go but then the weather went crazy.
