Main sports:
Football (soccer) > Aussie Rules > Tennis

Sports I can watch:
Cricket (all forms, but can't watch a full test match though) > Ice Hockey (don't follow anyone) > F1 > Baseball (don't follow anyone) > Basketball (I was joking E92_ I do like basketball :D) > Motorbikes > V8's

The rest are treated as: "Meh" or "What the hell is this?"

People are far too quick to shoot down T20 in order to look and act like 'purists' and 'realists'.

Aye. It's like people show a token dislike for T20 so they can be viewed as a 'traditionalist' and be a more 'respected' fan of the game of cricket. T20 is there for entertainment and it's great to watch.

Don't give me "real cricket" and "not real cricket" bullshit. You hit the ball, you're making runs, there's six balls in an over. It's just a different mindset - still the same skills.

My biggest problem right now with T20 is that particularly overseas the grounds are quite small and the boundaries are then brought in another 10 metres, which makes it possible for a complete miss hit to go flying to the boundary.

Rugby is full of men who were once fat kids with no skill or hand-eye coordination.

Going by that logic, Soccer is full of "men" who were once aspiring actors.

I am batman.

That's exactly the point. You don't get it.
When they keep the ball in their half, they ARE building and setting up a plan of attack at that moment. But of course you wouldn't get that.
You've played? Surely you must've been striker to not get this. I've played as well. I was goalie for most of my time playing. I've seen this, and seen the defenders look for a player to either bomb it long or pass it to a midfielder so they can make the pass. Once I as the goalie smashed the opposition's through ball to a striker for him to put away.

Another thing, you have to be an athlete to play soccer, whereas in Rugby, some fat bugger wearing a headband can still be in the team. How the hell can they bend down to pick up the ball
Oh and while we're at it. This is the real football. Not rugby. In rugby, you don't even use your feet!!
And why is soccer called "The World Game"? Because every country plays it.
I rest my case.
Ok,
You make some good points.
But I know that goals don't always take ages to happen. However, I was at the Heart v Mariners game on Sunday (0-1) and it was the most boring sporting event I've been too. And yeah I know that's one game and I agree that every game is different and that some games are way higher scoring and all that, but you would never get such a boring game in footy or rugby, would you?

And in terms of being an athlete, thats a huge and ridiculous assumption purely based on stereotypes. Billy Slater is an athlete, and definitely more of an athlete than Demba Ba.

And finally, just because heaps of people play it, doesn't mean its good. I could just as easily say this:
Melbourne, the sporting capital of Australia, has several teams in across four football codes (Footy, soccer, league and union). And it's footy that gets the attendances
I mean, how many football codes compete with soccer in Barcalona, or London, or Paris?

I actually liked the T20 format at first but I'm over that format of the game, especially after what Cricket Australia did with the domestic competition. T20 is taken too seriously when it really is just a hit and giggle.

I'm happy it's there as an alternative, I just wish it wasn't taken too seriously and I wish they would bring back the state teams in the domestic comp. Having said that, give me the real stuff any day of the week. Bring on the first test!
