Silent Alarm If architecture was one of the reasons for choosing your uni, you should have come to USC. Nothing says this is a place for higher education better than a weird metal thing that makes no sense.

Fantastic stuff.

Also, I'm just defending my choice in uni. And I basically think it's laughable that a kid who has never gone to uni a day in his life is telling me about what uni is better than what. I was light-hearted until you basically implied that RMIT isn't very prestigious (wrong), that I could've gotten into Melb Uni (possibly, but you are no authority on that), and that Melbourne is better than every other uni at every single course (generalised, false, and a part of the massive myth that there's a sole hierarchy in terms of a uni's worth).

Dude, I just was inquisitive... I had no idea the score for RMIT Journalism was so high. I have little knowledge of ATAR requirements at Universities in Melbourne, because I've always known that I'd never want to live there again. I know a lot of people that have gone to RMIT and loved it, had success there, and found great jobs straight out of Uni. You'll do well there, as you're a good writer.

I apologise that you took my comment the wrong way.

What is your problem? Who gives a crap what uni we go to.

Why does it always end up in a agreument sa?
> Calls my uni worse than Melbourne Uni and wonders why anyone would want to go there
> Is offended when someone says the same to him
> Blames the other person for being argumentative

Solid logic.

Thts ok Hand xxxxxx. But why don't you want to live in Melbourne again? Just bored of the place?

Yep. I've seen a majority of what Victoria has to offer, and even though it's a great place, I just don't enjoy it when I visit family/friends. I'm still finding out about my new home, Queensland. Once I'm finished Uni I wish to live in London for a couple of years. It's been a life long dream of mine. Thankfully my Dad is British so I can live there as long as I want. You know, work in England, go to Arsenal matches, explore Europe, meet an English lass, etc.

To sum it up, I like to stay busy.

I do know what you mean. Western Australia is a nice place. But the longer I hang around, the more noticeable its negatives become. But I'd never regret being brought up here, I liked where I lived as a kid. And as bad as it sounds, I don't think living in the same town forever is especially healthy: It's probably even regressive, not just stagnating.

I agree on the London front, but I don't think I could actually live there for more than two years or so. I'd just miss footy and the warmth too much. Probably just more of a base for me, to be honest. And I had the same dream about Arsenal games, but it's nigh-on impossible. You're either spending a few hundred pounds every second weekend, or you're on a 20-year waiting list for a season ticket. Two or three games a year at the Emirates would be cool for me, but to be honest, just going down to Watford or Charlton or something would be pretty chill as well.

Also, you should rephrase that. English lasses, not the singular! Wasting your youth on one person doesn't appeal to me in the slightest.

The longer I'm away from WA, the more I miss it. I always think of it as the most amazing place. Though I don't think it would live up to my expectations if I was to live there again as all the wonderful memories are from when I was a little kid and I only remember the good things. I have only been there once (2010) since I moved east in 2003. Let me just say, Scarborough ain't what it used to be...

English Study score necessary for English course at Vic Uni: 20
English Study score neccassary for English course at RMIT: 35

There is just literally no argument. You cannot argue this at all. RMIT and even Curtin are more renowned and respected than the highly stigmatised Vic Uni. The numbers show that. Why can't you admit it?

Curtin is also nowhere near as good as RMIT. I would not have changed unis if that was the case.

You just don't even know.
