I felt dirty so I uninstalled Photoshop and bought the Student and Teacher Edition for just $201. You just need to prove your eligibility by showing your Student ID (Uni or School).

$201 sounds reasonable if you use it alot. 1,600 i guess is more aimed at a company.

At the end of last year, all grade 11's at my school (like most schools, I'd imagine) were given HP laptops, which weren't of the greatest quality, I might add. But the good thing about them was the fact that they were accompanied by the entire Adobe CS5 Master Collection (later upgraded to CS6) which is ridiculously expensive. The whole package costed each student only $150.

Unfortunately, we were forced to return them when we graduated. Which actually wasn't too unfortunate for me as mine had become extremely slow (notfromporn) and I only ever used Photoshop and Illustrator from the Master Collection. I'm also far, far happier with a Mac.
