I think it's the perfect time to retire as he'll be able to do it in good form in front of an appreciating home crowd. Much better than doing a Ponting and trying to hang on too long.

He isn't old and is too big of an asset to the team. For now he should just stick to batting.

He's 31. He may not have dominated at test level but he is a proven performer and with the recent retirement of Hussey I don't think it's the right time to dramatically change the squad ahead of the Ashes.

If we were only picking people who'd dominated at test level at some point, Clarke would be our only batsmen.

They've got the India series to experiment with the squad before the Ashes. Watson should bat lower, maybe 6 or 7. Khawaja in for Hussey.
