I love having late shifts at work. Like... 3PM-9:30PM sort of shifts. They're the best. I get there at a quiet time of the day, so I have a little time to settle in to it, and then at 4PM comes the huge rush until about 6, and then within about 10 it dies down to nothing and then after that the only customers are shady as **** but they're usually awesome as well.

Some days I work 9 hours. That's approx $140. On Sundays I get time and a half, and a few sundays ago I worked 9 hours and got approx $215. I generally get between 15-30 hours per week.

Did you work boxing day? I get 15 an hour so double time and a half = $37.50/hr

I worked 8 hours which is a $300 day.

No, I didn't.

In SA, from 7PM-midnight on Christmas eve and New Year's eve it's a public holiday. I got $40 per hour I worked during that time (8 hours) and it was an easy $320.

You like working on the check outs? I hated it when I was 16. I was at Target, and it was the most boring and depressing thing. Awful 'colleagues' as well. So many losers wasting away their lives, hangin' out for the next ciggie break, loving breaking the balls of the young kids working there. Shite.

Not really. But I like the fact that I am working at all, so I can't complain really. My colleagues are fantastic IMO, mostly all are around my age, all are committed to their jobs (which I thought was quite surprising, their level of commitment) and they are always up for a chat when they can. I've only been working there for a month and I've only reached the "Facebook friend level of friendship" with just one person.
