That takes the cake. But I'm looking for something more professio... Forget it :(

I lost posts. Like, 20-something posts. I'm below 10,000 now. Who's the phantom mod? What gives?!?
A thread was probably deleted.

Come on lmach give him a go at least hes having a dip. At the end of the day its never too early to start that type of stuff if you decide you are going to try & do it as a career.

I wouldnt mind if you made 1 lmach. Just think in 3 years if you are doing this type of stuff at uni ie. designing stuff & u are applying for a job u can put in your cv portfolio that you started a fb page 3 years previous its good street cred in terms on getting your name out there

That's not what I'm disputing. The FB page is fine, and so too the website if he wasn't trying to monetize it. A simple portfolio would have been appropriate. Leave the business to the professionals with degrees in that area.

Remember if you make a pirtfolio & can get likes & get ppl want your jumpers made you can get it done easy. I hope most the boys make wat nm did. I really like the idea. Most on here are not professionls. But some do better work than pros imo on here.

You don't need a degree to be a graphic designer.

It helps I imagine but it's hardly neccessary. It's like journalism.

NM design if you can do the job and people are willing to pay you, eventually finishing uni with a solid portfolio of paid for work will put you in good stead.

I know for a fact Rohan Connolly started a journalism degree and never finished it.

As someone who does journalism, it's a pretty boring degree. They iron out all creativity and individuality and the ex-Murdoch journos who tute and lecture are kind of boring people. There's a real gulf between ABC smuggery, sports sycophancy, and the regular newspaper tripe.

The worst thing is that you're essentially with people who have kind of disappointing ambitions. Working at the Herald Sun sounds lame to me. And the death of journalism can't come quick enough, because all the traditional type did was perpetuate a self-regulated, standard-happy industry that basically burnt out.

Plus the pay's shit. Unless you see the written word as an art, rather than a pedestal for peddling cliches, then I just don't know about the whole industry. But I'm happy with not making much money.
