To win the Brownlow you don't need to be the best in the competition. You just have to be consistently good for your team, and Boak and Wingard have been Port's best by a long, long, long way this year.

To win the Brownlow you don't need to be the best in the competition. You just have to be consistently good for your team, and Boak and Wingard have been Port's best by a long, long, long way this year.

You also need to be winning more often than not. Port won't win enough games. Plus Westhoff has already taken points off them.

That's supposed to be a saw blade, a nod to the lumberjack industry. I see what they wanted to do. Keep the basic "R" logo and colors from the Rough Riders era, but there's another Canadian team with that name (Saskatchewan Roughriders) and they won't let Ottawa take that name again, since that Ottawa franchise folded in 1996, after 120 years. They later resurfaced as the Renegades, but that only lasted 4 seasons, so no one cares about that name.

As for the names you suggested, I don't think they call wild boar "razorbacks" in Canada. And unless some Aussies brought them over in their luggage, I'm pretty sure we don't have redbacks here.

But, they were considering Ottawa Rush (rush is a defensive term as in "pass rush", and an offensive term, as in "rushing the ball", and the band Rush is from Ontario), which would have worked just fine, keeping the "R" and colors with a name that makes some sense.
