ok then when was it announced?

I don't know the exact date, it isn't exactly at the top of my most important news stories list. But it would have been 2 years ago that the original vote (by the Crows and Power) for the redevelopment of Adelaide oval would have taken place as the redevelopment has been going on for a fair amount of time.

First the AFL world would have really seen of it without having to look hard would have been Round 24 2011 when the last day of the final round was highlighted by almost 30,000 people squeezing into the ground to see the first ever AFL match there - Port d Melbourne. Channel 7 broadcast, AD was probably there, for a dead rubber game on Fathers Day.

2014 AFL Premiership Fixture update
22 games in 25 rounds with two sets of bye rounds.
1st bye group: R08-R10
2nd bye group: R18-R19
* I think the second bye group will really play with the DreamTeam fixture next year.

I realise the players get fatigued and stuff, but FFS bring back the split-round.

EDIT: I should have made it more clear. 1 split round in the middle of the season.

Nice edit. I really enjoyed the split round when I was young. I remember a Sydney v Essendon game on the Saturday night of the second week. Though I wouldn't mind having a split round every six weeks to help with the fatigue instead of the bye weeks. Or go 2 teams a week to have byes, like the NRL/NFL.

If a player needs a rest, give him a rest.
They play once a week for 6 months.
Maybe they should train less, or something.
But seriously...

Do the 2 teams play each other the very next round? That'd work well.

Oh, BTW, what is a guernsey?

And what is the fascination with Ochre jerseys?
Hey man, welcome to the thread! (Sorry, had to pull this to another thread cos it becomes Random Chat)
A guernsey is a type of top. Mero can explain this better and has on many occasions.

The ochre is basically this

I've never quite understood the entire fascination with this particular guernsey, but I do think its... unique. We never really have had a design like this in any other teams, so this gives it a rare quality

Nice placing of Matt Smith's head. Makes it look like SEX.
