Aged 16 would be year 10 or if he jumped a year, year 11, which is why this puzzles me.

In WA you're 6 when you start year 1, unless you were born after July in which case your 7 (like the rest of the country I'm guessing?)

So by year 12 everyone with a pre-july birthday is 17 and everyone after that is 18.

The only subject I recognise there is Physics We've got General Maths, 2 Unit Maths and Maths Extension 1 or 2.

My course to get into uni wasn't even a year. It was one semester and I slot straight into the second semester of the course I wanted in the first place. So, I lost no time on my degree, and I get more knowledge regarding research, referencing and essay writing than people who went straight to their course

Yeah, I did a semester thing as well and had the option to start my course right away, but if I did that it waa only part time and I would have to catch up the other half in my own time. I'd much rather wait and just do the whole thing full time rather then stretching the whole course out.

WA made everything really easy to follow, our school system was ages 6-17, driving age was 16 etc. Then we were told to become complicated like all the other states because we made them look bad

Just talked to my brother and he actually got a 96.25 ATAR. However, since he's from the country the uni he is going to gave him an additional weight. To them his ATAR is a perfect 99.95

Was meant to graduate in 2012 but due to various demons in my head around that time, I left early. Spend the next year and a bit doing odd jobs while fixing myself up the best I could and sat the STAT one morning a few months ago. Somehow got marks high enough to clear the benchmark for all four public unis in WA, so the uni option is open for me should I wish to proceed down that path.

There's a dude in my year level who was born in november 1998. So he sat prep in 2003. Skipped year 8. Is now going into year 12 next year aged 16. It's possible.

I just turned 17 when I started, I had friends who were already 18 when they did year 12

Wouldn't he be in prep 2004??? Yeh their is a kid at my school who is in year 8 in 2015 and he has a disability where he is really smart or something he is like 12 I think
