The Yarra is shithouse, in terms of cleanliness, but it's great around the south wharf area now, some great bars and shops along there. I religiously walk from Clarendon st, with a pizza stop, along the Yarra, through the new Jim Stynes board walk, and up to Etihad for Friday/Saturday night games, then stop at a bar in South wharf if we win on the way back.

The new parts of the river are much better than they used to be. Flinders st/art centre around abouts of the Yarra is a touristy kind of area.
