Ive been losing weight in order to. Does that count?

I could probably be able to play out most of a game, it just wouldnt be a pretty sight trying to fit into a guernsey smaller than a XL
kind of.
that's part of the reason i joined a gym, so i could have a run around again after i finish school.
i definitely wouldn't fit into a XL, though i'm nearly 2m, soooo

I signed up after a 3 year absence, pre season has killed and continues to kill me.
Before his problematic knees got the better of Handy by restricting him to just Soccer/Cricket, Handy found that completing 50 pushups (5 sets, 10 reps) and a 1 minute plank each day during pre-season maximised his physical ability before a Footy season.

I used to do 80+ pushups every couple of days in four sets a couple of years ago but I slacked out of it. The running is the real problem with footy though, it's all about building an engine to play through fatigue.

I was super lazy post-high school in December/Jan last year and received a rude awakening at preseason.

And hell, who didn't slack off after their VCE?

I spent 3 months waking up at 10am, eating whatever I felt like, watching the Comedy Channel all day and going on a Goon-frenzy at night with my equally irresponsible friends. It takes a while to get your body back into that mature, disciplined mindset but if you want to be happy, healthy and pleased with your appearance then there's only one way to go about it.

I still struggle to do more than 15 in a set. Push ups are just something I've always battled with. It's no reflection on my upper body strength I don't think. I'm a strong lad; maybe not for my height but I take some tackling.
Man, I feel you with push ups. I'll struggle with 10. Have a quick break. Struggle getting to 8. Have a quick break. Punch out the hardest 5. Collapse. Wake up the next day with the sorest shoulders. I just can't do it. My twig arms aren't meant for push-ups. Swimming is also a weakness of mine.

In saying that, endurance running and sit ups I find not too bad.

Good on you. :thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

What sort of routine/diet are you practising in order to do so?
Its nothing drastic. From memory I limit my intake to 2200 calories a day, exercising every day Im not at uni (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays) for 45 mins a routine. I bought a Fitbit for Christmas so thats helped me stick to my goals big time, and with some great results so far

That's awesome man, keep it up! What's the Fitbit like? I'm interested in them, but I think I'm just going to go and buy a nike+ chip instead.

I love it to be honest, it syncs to my phone via bluetooth (I have the Charge variety) so I can be notified when I get a call as well as track steps taken, calories burned, distance traveled, and flights of stairs climbed. It can also set silent vibration alarms.

Essentially, the Fitbit is one of the top of the market products, but well worth the cost.

Chin-ups I find much easier, and sit-ups are a breeze.

I don't mind trying out push-ups from time to time, but I can never get the hang of burpees.
I actually cant do burpees, old football injury means I have to be careful with my knees with those sort of exercises

Living on the Sunshine Coast for a bit as a kid (and now recently moving here), I've frequently been exposed to swimming/surfing and find simple & tireless.

Endurance is something that came natural to me until I had bad run of knee injuries in my mid-late teens. SitUps are simple, yet uncomfortable. We're on the exact same page with pushups, mayn. My inability to do a set without feeling exhausted in the arms is borderline embarrassing. Just one of those things unfortunately... it doesn't help that everyone else seems to have no trouble doing 25-30 in succession.
