One thread per program used, with templates and design templates (V's, Hoops, stripes etc.) in it. That is, one for Paint, Photoshop, Illustrator, Inkscape, Paint.Net etc
I started creating a new, cleaner thread for templates, which has been put on hold because I'm a bit busy to really make it good. Don't need an entire subforum for something which can be done in a single thread. Besides, 90% of people here use PS and AI, with the rest mostly paint. There's about one user each for the others.

yeah, but i think it'd be much easier to work with and find what's needed if illustrator had it's own, and photoshop had it's own etc
We need to clean up the template thread, and have a colour thread in the directory as well.
here's what I'm thinking. A combined tutorial/template thread.

Post #1 has links to all Photoshop templates and tutorials.

AI and PS have their own 'tut' threads or there's the Q and A thread for help. Regarding templates, my new one will have a directory and will be far more organised rather than going in order of date posted for 10 pages (if I ever actually get around to making it).

And here's a copypaste of what I sent Dylan earlier.

Dyl I think we need to redo some of the stickies in FJGD. Ideally we should have something like
- Welcome to FJGD! Rules and Guidelines
- FAQ, request, Q&A thread
- Competitions HQ
- Universal Template/Tutorial Thread (recreated so that it flows better)

Starting with a 'Competitions HQ' type thread sticky.

Competitions HQ would have an explanation of what a competition is (as opposed to a workshop, as explained HERE and with links to the Competition Proposal thread (which should be re-created, so it becomes easier to read, with some sort of template-to-fill-out in the OP), all current competitions and all past competitions. I can write all this up if you'd like. As in, get all the past competitions and shit. It wouldn't link to EVERY round or whatever, just the Hub thread (if it exists) or something.

Post #1 has links to all Photoshop templates and tutorials.
Add the fourth post for any others. The current Paint stuff has quite a lot.
Maybe a fifth post for anything not AFL related?

Impossible, there is a 20 post limit on posts.

And there are shitloads of paint templates, one for each manufacturer, multiplied by the number of different verisons we have. On top of this, there are variations of sashes, stripes, hoops that need to be posted.

I'd prefer to see one thread per program.

Akkaps I dont know how to say this without sounding like a smartass but it's possible to have more than one post dedicated to paint.

the actual thread would become a cluster**** though jumping between different programs randomly.

yeah, i meant them, but moved into a sub.

could clear out some of the old paint templates that aren't being used anymore.
in fact, could clean out some of the templates from all programs that aren't being used anymore.

Some people prefer to use the old Paint templates because it they have all possible design patterns for them to use. The newer ones don't have many design patterns for people to use.

I understand that, but then it'll just keep getting added to, and then get out of control.
No it wouldn't. Donr be stupid. Over time, templates would become obselete/out of date and placed in an archive thread of sorts And then replaced with the newer ones.

We won't be pressed for space.

what. No it wouldn't.

They won't be deleted. They'd be archived. Still accessible.

you're unnecessarily complicating this dude.

Sorting the fraff and streamlining a template thread is far easier than having a needless, dead subforum - one which would have how many threads, 4? 5? How many programs are there? All we need is to create a new template thread, only put in current, up to date templates and stuff and have a directory in the OP. Everything else is in the thread directory sticky right at the top of the board.

I did not know that this was your intention.

i meant some of the really old ones, there's a few that could stick around with design options in them, the Carls12 one IIRC does
carls12's, stormy/akkaps, and the ScottFreo ones would be good to keep.
