Jeepers - we couldn't get to $3000 for giantroo's puta.
I don't know if anyone else has picked up on it, but puta is a generic Spanish word for s l u t
GR doesn't strike me as the kind of guy to be crowd funding for visits to the pleasure palace.

Just on the US, anyone see the news about the raid by ICE on chicken farms in Mississippi on the first day of school? Pure evil. Heaps of young children went home to find their homes locked and their parents gone. That’s disgustingly cruel

Tells a bit of a different story and this is from a left-leaning news corporation.

Choosing the first day of school is a disgrace. They f’ed up. Shot themselves in the foot by doing that. Stupid evil decision.
Choosing any school day would have been evil by that logic.

What about the poor bloke who was deported by ICE to Iraq? He was born in Greece, moved to America when he was 6 months old. Didn’t speak Arabic, they deported him to Iraq where he knew no one. Just been found dead because he couldn’t get insulin. Disgraceful.

Edited- accidentally wrote moved to Iraq, meant to write moved to America 😐

It would be. These are children. They have to make sure they’re safe.

Sounds like a complete bureaucratic f*** up. Even Republican senators have said the same about funding and processes.

Heads will roll, or should, on this one.

1) What relevance does it have for you?
2) I didn't recommend that you scour her twitter feed.

No. I did that off my own bat. Cos people who might be interesting might have interesting Twitter feeds with exposure to interesting ideas. I have old friends in Portland actually.

You said this:

I am even more impressed with Bret Weinstein's wife, Heather Heying:

I don't really care who posts it... I take name dropping like that as a recommendation to check that person out. Once upon a time that was how good ideas spread.

Yeah.

Bravo the seperation of powers.

Up yours Bolsonaru you fascist Junta!

Our High Court is a wet limp lettuce leaf.

We live in a totalitarian society.

No we don't. We almost do but we don't yet.

Unfortunately the most important element for a totalitarian state - ie the totality - the support from the population for an authoritarian ruler not a government, is in place.

As is the police state powers including arbitrary arrest, unlimited detention and a plethora of rules to encourage secrecy and discourage transparent criticism of government are in place but the general mindset of the population - that we're a free country - is still there. Its only that contradictory nature of our public "national personality" or whatever you want to call it that holds back the tide of totalitarianism.

Plus judicial review.

Should be, but is it?

Ask Mohammad Haneef. He was innocent and would have been railroaded under terrorism charges on the basis of nothing for political gain, in the lead up to a federal election. However the Federal Court (didn't even get as far as the high court) threw the case out amid some brutal criticism of the incumbent government.

Monsanto are campaigners. But an even bigger problem is the way corporates are developing intelligence services to match governments and private military organisations like the infamous Dyncrop, Blackwater and Sandline are/were growing big enough to provide them with the sort of military support governments get.
