Definitely. The same applies now. The way he refers to armed forces as ‘his’ totally exposes his hypocrisy

They all do it mate.

Think of the ego required to get to these positions.

That's the thing with Trump, he does have some very good and worthwhile stances, which he inevitably discredits or ruins through his own mendacity, laziness, ignorance etc.

I remember reading Matt Taibbi in 2015 just after he'd started his rallies, its what got me interested in him and realising that he was a very good chance to beat Clinton.

His stuff about immigration, his flat anti war isolationist stuff, attacking drug companies on prescription medication, all sensible stuff, and playing beautifully to that white working class audience that voted Obama twice and felt let down, and knew Hillary would be even worse.

But then he just stuffs it up- anti war but walks away from a peace treaty with Iran, the best opportunity to remove the need for US forces in the area for 50 years, because of his personal animus toward Obama, which creates the ground for a new and even bigger war.

Reckon he just makes up stuff on the fly depending on what mood he’s in.

Definitely. Massive egos and shitloads of adderall

There's a strong argument that wanting to be President of the United States is an indicator of mental ill-health.

(There's also a strong argument that Trump never genuinely wanted to be President, and was shocked and freaked out when he won.)

He's certainly got some long hwld basic political views that haven't changed much in decades.

But he lacks impulse control and despite his spin, and because he believes his own spin, he's a terrible negotiator, so often gets rolled, or boxed in, or straight up ripped off/beaten, but insists he hasn't.

Erdogan did him a beauty the other week.

There was a book about that, from memory it’s called fire and fury? He just wanted to be the most famous man in the world. Which is why I find it amusing that he doesn’t even have close to the Twitter followers of Obama, he’s at 11. Obama is no 1 hahaha. I know it’s petty but I also know it’d hurt his ego

Short version - Assad DIDN'T gas his own people early last year, the "moderate rebels" faked it, and Trump was right to resist acting in a kneejerk reaction and flinging bombs around, but then Ivanka came and showed him a picture of a baby that had been gassed and he can't resist Ivanka, so some token missiles were flung anyway.

Pretty much sums up the whole shitshow.

Yeah, Fire and Fury covers that bit, Bannon's talked about it as well.

It was a stunt to raise his profile so he could set up his own TV network.

Kinda brilliant in many ways,

Melania certainly didn't think she was becoming FLOTUS.

The useful idiots who repeat the right wing talking points on gender stuff and Greta Thunberg and climate change don't understand how they actively shape a political climate where this kind of thing can become a reality (even though they will oppose it).

I like that John Money's work is still referenced and discussed today - especially those that talk about gender roles and fluidity etc. Anything negative brought up about the Reimer twins is brushed off as "right-wing media bias" and "the antifeminist movement" :drunk:

Reimer's parents are both adamant that it was Money's work that lead to the death of both their children when they committed suicide.

Amazing really. Swept under the rug in modern times. I do think modern-day Oprah wouldn't touch this with a 50-foot pole.

I know your probably taking the piss, but that is exactly what I am talking about.

They are very impressive to hold. Heavy, fearsome weapons. And all that was required in this part of the world at the time.

If Europeans had the sort of hard woods we have here they'd have probably not bothered with smelting for a while either. And built stronger, better boats.

you dont mean babylon bee?

That's not a new thing.

Last century i saw a lecture by an intersex person. It was interesting. Their life story was a series of **** around **** overs by other people, the medical establishment and her family in particular. I say her cos she "identified' as a woman. Not cos she was but cos it made life easier.

She said she was 36 years old and the longest lived intersex person in Australia at the time and as far as anyone knew ever. Usual cause of death was suicide somewhere between puberty and the early 20s. Every single case she knew of involved surgery and hormone treatment to make the intersex person one gender or another. Basically the more that what you might call their their knob looked like a real knob the more liekly they were to avoid surgery and just get male hormone treatment. The less so the more likely surgery to look like female genitals and female hormone treatment.

I completely agree with you but feel its more important to laugh about stuff like this from your article,:

The United Kingdom this month abandoned plans to introduce a nationwide age verification system for online pornography, after years of technical troubles and concerns from privacy campaigners.

Ha - he called them campaigners...
